GEC 68 Pony Jack 2021

Im glad this is next, this is a pattern ive often considered and wanted for a blade delete to make a smaller equal ends than the 35 which i believe the blade is canted to allow for the secondary.
On the 68 white owl, cigar, single spring, double blade.....I believe they were offset ground first and then swedged to allow passage without a crink. The equal end pen single spring knives will have thiner blades then the same pattern as a jack or moose configuration. But yes, a secondary delete will make a nice strong user knife on this run.

How does a 68 compare to a 35? I like my 35 harness jack forum knife, and I’m curious how the 68 measures up.

Very cool to see this pattern on the schedule. I am more excited for a 68 than an 86 barlow, by far..

Not sure if all steel knives have had a shield. I can't recall as I remeber them being #15 barlows and barlows generally don't have shields. I can't recall though.

The only all-steel knife I have with a shield that is made by GEC is a Northwoods - otherwise, all others (14s, 15, 77s, 93s,) are all shieldless, non-barlow versions as well.

I remember those ponies. I wanted one in blue denim acrylic and never could find one. Cool knives. Can’t wait to see the new offering.

I used to have a rust red bone 68 pony jack. It was my first gec, which I then sold/traded to a friend for $30 and a camillus cub scout knife. A couple years ago some losers broke into his shop and stole the 68 along with a bunch of other stuff. I think my friend and I are both due for some new 68’s so I am glad to hear this.

Where would a guy sign up for notifications? I’ve one of the previous issues but would like another.
Follow Great Eastern Cutlery on Instagram, they post when the knives are completed and shipping to distributors. Once you have that knowledge they usually drop within a week at dealers. The rest is being ready for the drop

Not quite my speed, so it's a good one for me to take a pass on with all these great 86s coming out.
I am in the same boat. It would take a really unique cover that I haven't seen before to get me interested in this pattern.

I'm pretty sure I have a 92 Eureka Jack with a hot dog shield and no endcaps that is all steel. I'll have to try to dig it out.

No other exceptions spring to mind tho. And I can sure be remembering wrong too!
