They made it better

The 42 is about the same size as popular ‘combat’ folders and is just a very balanced and functional size overall. In wood, the weight and balance is perfect. And the lock back - while traditional - is a step up.

Why JohnDF ? A single #73 should be enough to last a lifetime, though it might be prudent to have a spare on hand. I've been unsuccessfully trying to wear mine out.

For sure, mine is far from worn out.
It gets carried and used a lot too, it's so good.
But I see all the beautiful #73's, and I know I really like 'em, so of course I want more.
After all, I have (2) #15's, (2) #56's, (2) #66's, and (2) #71's... stands to reason I should have (2) #73's... right?

I have been trying to work out all the different patterns, it would help if the size was determined my the pattern numbers value.

So if I have this right....

A 72 is bit bigger than a 73 and both are UK legal (if just slip joints).

The 23 is bigger than the 42 both are too big for the UK, but darn fine knifes as full on got to get the job done workers.




So now I need a single blade 72 with a lanyard hole,it doesn't stop.

The #72 is the lock back version of the #73.
The #42 is the next biggest, and it's a lock back.
The #23 is the next biggest and can be had in a slip joint or liner lock.
