This 77 Barlow has owned my RFP 24/7 since the day it arrived in late September.

AZRM, I admire your ability to keep the same knife in your pocket for stretches at a time. I have had a copy of your knife in my pocket every day since Christmas, when I finally got around to giving it a chance in place of my Eureka jack. It's a great knife, and there's really no logical reason to ever move away from it. Then again, there's very little that's logical about this disease that we all share.

You have a couple months head start on me, but I'll be interested to see if I can't keep my streak going longer. ;)

It's just a wonderful knife. It brings together all the things I'd been wanting... The long-pull spear with coping secondary, beautiful red sawcut bone, steel bolsters and just an all-around gorgeous package that speaks to me. My single sheepfoot 77 Barlow in AB is also very dear to me. I think over the past few years I've developed a fascination with the Barlow pattern. Mike's 77 is among the finest ever produced I dare say.

For me it's the perfect pocket knife. I pair it with a Peanut or an SAK typically, but the Barlow does the majority of the work and also enjoys endless fondling when I sit relaxing in my chair. :D

That's a great looking, well love knife Jeff! I do carry mine fairly often..but at least for now the #85 still rules the knife roost. I think I am going to lock all of my knives away for the month of Feb except for the #77 and SAK and see how that does.....we'll see. You just keep on loving that knife!

Since this thread got bumped up to the front page - anybody have a guess what we will see for a 2016 Medium Barlow?

First page of this thread two people were already asking for a cap lifter... I would love to see cap lifter, brass pins from the first run and steal bolsters from the last run.

THe red sawcut is looking well loved Arizona. MY White bone has been in my pocket everyday since my little lady gifted it to me in OCTOBER.

I knew she had gotten it for me when the run first came out, but she made me wait FOR over month. At first I could see no good reason for her torturing me... then I turned that spear blade over.

^^^nice when you received it....really nice now!^^^ That patina looks well earned.

The 77 frame would be a neat platform for an electrician's knife.

Cool pics everyone! I gave my mother a sheepfoot 77 a while ago and she carries it all the time.

Nice! What a very special knife indeed being a gift from your wife. That 77 is aging wonderfully. Those smooth bone scales with rounded corners are so comfortable in the hand.

I think the GEC 77 SFO in Ivory Bone is the best pocket knife I have ever owned.

I have a hard time saying categorically "best" about any one pocket knife. But I have to say, stormylntz, I agree with your sentiment. It's turning out to be one of my absolute favorites--top 5, to be sure. I really liked it before the EO notch, but it seems that anytime I do a modification on a knife, I grow significantly more attached to it. These 2-blade spear/coping #77s are prime candidates for the EO mod. You got to nail it just right, so as to clear the coping blade, but not to clear the spear. But...the space is there, almost like it was planned that way.:D

LOVE THIS KNIFE.

MCar, nice work. I had an EO done to a single smooth ivory. I love pinchable frames and i LOVE THE 77. I personally thought the EO notch felt funny in hand when open. I the 15 single clips for this reason. Anyone else agree? I sold my smooth ivory and I miss it greatly, the action of that knife was amazing, smooth and it rang when it snapped shut.

I really hope to see a PINCHABLE CLIP or more sheep foots 77 this year!!!!

MCar, enjoy that knife.

I don't find the EO notch uncomfortable when the knife is open. In fact, it sort of has the perfect placement for my ring finger to sit in. But I can see how it may be odd depending on its placement or the hand size of the user. I very much agree about #15 clips. Another one of my top favorite EDCs is my #15 clip in red jigged bone. It's very pinch-able and that makes me love the knife all the more. Mine is a Tidioute version, though (are Northfields pinch-able...with the swedge and all?)? I agree. I, too, would like to see a clip #77 that was pinch-able.:thumbup:

Others feel that way?

I think the pinchability is all about the blade shape. The 15 clip rides taller and peeks at the nick or pull with a steeper angle at the spine of the blade. The 77 clip has less angle to it overall and the spine on the blade is more shallow. I like that it folds in on itself almost 1:1, but it's a stiff pull. I have 54's with a clip shape near identical to the 15's and they are pinchable even with a noticeably stronger spring.

Let's see some push for a pinchable clip 77 barlow. I'm right with you MCar.

My wife got me a #77 barlow for my bday in Jan. It's so well made and the snap is beautiful! I like the pull and snap on my #73 but the barlow has a lighter pull and the snap is like no other knife I have, it's an awesome knife!
