I'm a day late and a dollar short when it comes to these knives, I'm happy to own one though.
I snagged a #77 barlow off of the exchange here recently and I'm glad I did. I was able to get one from the first run which utilized a clip and wharncliffe blade, an "improved barlow"???
The knife is dressed with pioneer bone scales that have a lot of depth and character. It's used, but not abused. I wasn't aware that these knives were even produced until I stumbled across this thread, (I've been out of the loop) these knives went fast it seemed and now I know why.
The knife is extremely comfortable in hand and dual blades are perfect for my everyday needs. The swedges really set this knife apart for me, they add an extra "finished" feel to the knife overall. The long stamped bolster are extremely classy in my opinion and pay homage to the traditional barlows of the past.
This may be my perfect pocket knife!
Perfect meaning it will serve every basic need I have for a pocket knife, I have other knives better suited for hunting and such, but overall this knife isn't going to leave me wanting for anything in terms of my daily use. I don't think this knife was suited for specialized uses anyhow.
This post is just a thank you for those involved in bringing these knives about! I know these knives came out a couple years back, but I think they are something special and deserve that added attention!
So thank you Mike!
