GEC #77 Medium Barlow Impressions

To my understanding, Northfield and Tidioute are built to the same level of fit and finish. The Northfields have more flourishes in the design.

That was my understanding as well. I can't tell any difference between mine.

Very very fine collection, AL! You've got all the blade configurations on the Autumn Bone too! That took some doin, my friend!

Nice one in Blackwood, Fire Beard! I have the same one that was gifted by the Bisquit!

Thanks Perry... it definitely took some doin' with a healthy dose of luck.

Yep, Fire Beard, that's a very nice Blackwood.

Mine has been my EDC since I got it. My favorite knife. It's well used, smooth and takes an incredible edge. Like others have said, the Blackwood has chocolate brown streaks, but they're tough to capture in photos. This knife has saved me money. Lots of awesome stuff has come out lately, but nothing that's going to replace this one for pocket time.

Another example of these special blackwoods, Mike please oh please include these in you next run!

I still have the opinion that everyone here has valid points. We all love knives, we all support and respect Mike, GEC, and each other, oh and did I mention blackwoods??
Conversations and opinions with a foundation of respect and civility are good, this place would be boring without them. Blackwoods?

Such beautiful knives, and beautiful photography, Armando! Just had to bump these photos to the next page.

Stunning collection, Al!

It's funny, you know when the abalone ones were first released I don't think they were sought after like the pioneer bones were. This knife is as solid as any knife I've ever owned, the build is simply amazing! Thx, AL and Ron!

First, thank you to Tim for selflessly giving me a heads up that this knife was on the exchange! Although there are some liner gaps I realized that many if not most of my other knives have gaps as well and the things I love about this knife far surpass them. It perfectly blends form and function. It feels strong and sturdy yet refined and almost elegant. The wood is a rich dark chocolate with grain changes throughout and the rounded handle feels perfect in hand. The transitions from handle to bolster are the very best I have owned. No raised edges and my nails don't catch at all. Zero blade play and perfectly centered. A knife Mike should be proud to have commissioned and one I am certainly proud to own . Sorry for the long winded post :D

Anytime Drew, great photos :)

Congrats on your new AB #77 sheepfoot! It's the most pocketable knife I've ever owned. It's been 100% EDC since it arrived in mid-February.
