Indeed!Even then, a 2mm pin seems pretty small. No illusions that these are pocket tanks, but that seems a bit on the small side.
That is usual case for traditional knives of slip joint construction. You need the spring to be pretty wide near the blade tang, hence the non-centering. But it all depends on handle (bolster) width really. It's also located off center which makes me wonder if it is the pivot.
Thank you! I must admit that blades on Pocket Carver are relatively short, so they should have less leverage against the spring for the axis rivet to deform, I think. Not sure how the blade size fits into the equation, however 3 years of cutting with moderate and greater pressure has not had any negative affects on the pin in this knife. I would argue it gets used as much or more than most knives.

Here is a case mini trapper, closer to 3mm, and slightly offset. 3mm compared to two is a 50% increase, and this is a smaller knife. Never had issues with any of my GEC's just surprised how little pin is needed for the task.

Thanks! Though heads of the pins are usually of bigger diameter than their bodies (if that's a proper name for it). I'd say subtract one mm from the head's diameter.A full size Case Trapper has a pin a bit over 3mm. So at least with Case there is some correlation between pin and pattern size, for this sample of two.
