GEC Annual RendeZvous

At the GEC Rendezvous there is the GEC Factory Store, no vendors. The Queen "Open House" is the same weekend; http://www.queencutlerycollectors.com/pages/Shows.html
$20 ticket isn't really an "open house"

No, that event is something entirely different, a club event held off-site -- a ticketed "Show and Family Reunion" being put on by Queen Cutlery Collectors, LLC (as per your link-- thanks).

Does anyone know if Queen Cutlery (the knife company) is itself hosting tours or gatherings at its factory on the week end in question?

You are absolutely correct ~P. The Queen "Open House " is by the Queen Collectors Club. And located about 5 miles from Titusville. I don't know about an actual tour of the Queen Cutlery Factory. Although at the "Open House" there will be Vendors.

Uh-oh, I'm taking my son out to Pittsburgh for his university orientation on the 24th, may have to swing north on the way back home!

My wife will kill me :D

6 hour drive... Going to have to think about this, maybe I can make a camping trip out of it.

I would love to go. Google thinks it will take me 30 hours and 40 minutes and a lot of money.

Titusville is very near to Allegheny National Forest, Lake Erie, and several State Parks.

You're not helping Bob! :D We've camped in all the State Parks in Eastern/Northeastern PA, time to check out the rest of the state!

As we were driving to the lake today I couldn't stop talking about it until Mrs. Z told me to knock it off

And not far from the Zippo Factory either!

LOL, the last time I was at the Zippo factory I got myself in a heap of trouble too!
I saved up a year for that trip and filled my luggage with some hard to find examples. Mrs. Z was bored to tears :D

I've attended the last 3 or 4 Rendezvous and they have all been more than worth while.
Getting the chance to meet the wonderful people who produce these fantastic knives is an experience that shouldn't be passed by.

The opportunity to meet up with people from BF and other forums is also a very cool aspect to the open house. I have enjoyed many a long conversation on the front porch at the factory.

I hope to be there Saturday.

(Adds "outdoor chair" and, let's see, "sticks" to list of things to bring.)

No, no, no! You need to use the special Bladeforums.com Traditional SFO "Whittlin Stix". We're going to run some polls for wood type, length, diameter, bark/no bark, etc. ;)

Interesting. I don't have a swing guard... I wonder how many they will have for sale.

Edit: I see they will have 30 available. I'm not liking those odds... Hmm...

Would love to attend, but it's too far for something like this unless you're a vendor.

I'll see them at the Blade Show next year or perhaps somewhere in between.
