GEC Annual RendeZvous

I'd love to go.Bit out of area for me though.
I'm just wondering if anyone on here actually lives further away than me from Titusville Pa.
ENJOY

Hope you all enjoy yourselves at the gathering, sorry I can't make the trip from sunny Scotland, it's just too far for me.

To all the folks who cant make it from across the pond and other areas. I plan to attend and will try to get some decent pics of the event. Wish you all could make it. Heck I even have space in the car for you!!

Man, I really wish I could make it, I would love to meet all of you in person, especially our resident drug-I mean knife- dealer, Charlie :D.

You must be 10,000 miles away - 3 or 4 times the distance for you than me!!
I can see why your staying home!

BTW, everyone who is coming, why not bring a Barlow or two to show and tell??
That is half the fun of a meet-up like the Rendevous!!

I am hoping to buy my first Barlow while I'm there! I will, however, be toting along the nicest of my collection. I told my wife to be sure to bring a book...

Charlie is pretty close. 9,692 miles.

I think you hold the record, Meako. I don't think we have any members in Perth.

Thanks Brian, you can be our proxy! :D

I'll back Brian up as 2nd fiddle photographer. I'll take breaks from begging Charlie to sell me a Barlow long enough to fill up a memory card or two with pictures.

Can't wait!

My sense is that it is essentially an open house event versus a knife show. Businesses do this kind thing a lot. If I were willing to drive that kind of distance for a "show" like this, I would be more inclined to attend the AG Russell show in Arkansas next weekend and that is a real knife show. GEC is not listed as one of the vendors.

I'm actually tempted to attend the AG Russell show....

I believe you are correct, but that's largely the appeal for me. I've been to GEC's factory before and taken the tour. This time, it's about meeting a bunch of our members here, visiting with the GEC workers, and sitting on their front porch talking about knives and BS'ing in general. Have some neat old knives? Take them along and let other people admire them. The Queen show is the same weekend, just outside of Titusville. I will attend that show as well, since I really want to hear Mr. Anthony's lecture, but I'm really excited about the Rendezvous.

Absolutely, thank you to everyone here for just being part of our group- could you all take some photo's and perhaps those who did bang their photo's on this Thread for us who cant make it-it would be great seeing the faces together-in a way it would be a bit like being there!
Have a great time there!

Starting to get packed for the road trip!
