GEC Beagles

Ordered a KSF yellow camel bone this evening. Also, noticed another brown camel bone coyote pop up so I grabbed that as well....wonder where that one was hiding.

The Beagle is still off in the distance.. But rounded the loop and headed this way!!! John:D

The natural canvas micarta got a long pull and cloud shield, looks great!

Does anybody know if the natural canvas micarta version of the Beagle will have a satin blade and bolsters similar to Mike Latham's previous natural canvas SFO's like the 85's that came out a few months ago?

Looks like it to me in the pics on the FEC site... John

My Beagle in oil sucker rod wood. If you put your nose right up to it, it does indeed have a whiff of old oil, just like grand dad's garage used to smell, which is a very pleasing and nostalgic aroma, to me at least. My grandparents used to have a separate garage that was set into a hill, and the floor was made of big old beams from somewhere. Over the years, they had been infused with motor oil from multiple old leaky cars and pickups, and by the time I came along, it had a wonderful smell to a little boy. This knife smell reminds me of that.

I agree, but was worried that these had not gone through final polishing. I like the mix of Northfield and Tidioute features with Mike's SFO's.

I went ahead and locked in a Natural Canvas Beagle. I already have two Coyotes and there are two oil sucker rod wood Beagles on the way. These little knives are so addictive.

Reminds me of antique book marbling. Like the designs you see on the insides of old books.

Well - two of the Beagles came home yesterday; an Oil Sucker Rod and a Runaway Beagle. With the Runaway in hand, Lemmy's comment about Marbled Endpapers in old books came back to me.
So, I dug out an old book from my set of hardbacks for a quick photo.

It turns out that the Runaway Beagle is camouflaged. It just blends in the library and not in the field.

I love the extra brown coloring in the one you got MrBitters!

Still waiting on my two beagles. Gec is killing me, not sharing the long pulls and lined/pinched bolsters with these handle options. I'm so torn because I love the extra elegance of the northfield options. :grumpy:
Anyone know how possible it would be to have one modified with those features?

Only had a reservation in on one Northfield Beagle as I waited until late and am still awaiting the chance to purchase it. Happened to find some in stock Tidioute Beagles today, so have 3 of them starting their journey to me as we speak. :D

Really kicking myself for not getting in on the runaway beagles, nevertheless my oil sucker rod should be here in a day or so. Does anyone have any comparison shots between the beagle and a peanut?

Ahhh, dang it. I kinda cooled off on this pattern but now I see they're releasing a green bone version... I don't know if I'll be able to let that one slide.

I told myself I wasn't going to buy one of these, but it's the Cola Jigged Bone that's speaking to me right now. Must… resist… :D
