yes, it has the Sterling shield like the premium Remington models made by Camillus....Do I spy "Sterling" on the shield?
Kudos to Foggy Hill for contracting two mfg's to supply Remington knives at two very different price points. I was kinda bummed about them switching to B&S this year and planned on skipping it; but with the GEC Grand Daddy option I'll probably buy both.
I will absolutely be grabbing one of these if at all possible. THIS is the knife I wanted when I bought all my beautiful #97s!!
I don't see any info about this grand daddy on the GEC website. Where is everyone pulling this info from?
Does anyone happen to know who made this Remington RB1242 Big Daddy Barlow in 2009?Love it Harry, looks like GEC did a great job recreating the Remington, if I had to nitpick I wish the would have stamped the bolsters as Remington did.

now that is a piece!
Stamped bolster would have been a cherry…Love it Harry, looks like GEC did a great job recreating the Remington, if I had to nitpick I wish the would have stamped the bolsters as Remington did.

Does anyone know what the closed length is on this new run? Sorry if I missed that in the discussion.
Generally the grand daddy barlow is 5" closed, will have to see if GEC stuck to that or reduced it slightly like they did the 97.
i think i read 4.5'' closed,
That would be great, would make it more pocketable.
