Gec built 2022 Remington Bullet knife

Does anyone happen to know who made this Remington RB1242 Big Daddy Barlow in 2009?

I would have said Camillus until I read your other post, the hollow ground main would imho suggest Buck. However I have other clues to muddy the waters.
I am into bullet knives, also flintlock rifles so I had to have this one, cant wait for the new GEC version.

Firstly I'm fairly certain these muskets are Camillus made,as the nail nick location is in line with Camillus. Here's mine,20230108_152111.jpg
To bad GEC couldn't acquire that bolster stamp huh? Well I have a few more bullet knives, but jumbo trappers. 20230108_153846.jpg
Two of these from dates stamped into the blades fall within the Camillus range, one does not. The center knife isn't a Camillus as far as I can tell, but it really close. Minor details are a bit off as it were.20230108_153650.jpg
Made in Madison North Carolina, although I cannot find any additional information about these. I think they are built with Camillus tooling, but like thats just my opinion man.lol
I currently don't have solid evidence to that end. I would venture to say that keeping up with who has made Remington knives could be a subject all unto itself. Let's not forget there are possibly hundreds of manufacturers in on it, I mean there are plenty of cheap novelty type knives with Remington slathered all over them!20230108_160718.jpg
I mean this is a Remington grand daddy barlow, it has hollow bolsters, and had clear acrylic covers with a green piece of paper with Remington wrote on it under them. I bought it for five bucks just to experiment making covers from old micarta loom shuttles. Muddied waters indeed.

Based on photos located on the GEC website, it looks like these are complete. Hopefully they be available soon!

I wonder if Harry is referring to the #23 Northfield Bullet Knife. That came in two variations - a single blade liner lock and a two-blade trapper.

I had one of those no one wanted it eventually traded only as I found it hard to open.

Even though the 21 stayed in stock a fairly long time and GEC made a lot of them you don't see a lot on the secondary market. GEC has done a good job on the Remington reproductions, the bone color is spot on, Remington had various shades of brown, light to dark. Really looking forward to these barlows.

It was great knife no one wanted it for ages, in fact they slagged it of.

They where made just that bit better than the GEC version, mine is a keeper I love it.

HELP PLEASE

My emails from SMKW dont arrive for some reason they go into spam.

Would someone kindly message me when the arrive so I can try and get one?

😊

Now‘s the time to get one! I‘m wondering how many of these were made since they are advertised as a 2022 knife but being sold in 2023. Kind of a weird circumstance but I’m not complaining at all, I really wanted this knife. Now, hopefully they have more than a “3” rating on the spring, the previous 97’s (similar size) were terribly light.

The production totals from 2022 say that 500 of the R9511 were made
