With my orange Lockback. Can't wait to get the patina started on this baby.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1388763610.412416.jpg

Here's the canvas one with the original factory test #71 and a #47 I had lying around.

I could add a lanyard to the Bull Nose. I put the GEC Bail on but I think lanyards are rather cumbersome most of the time so it's not likely I'll add a lanyard.

I'm surprised at how little extra blade length you get with the Bullnose over the smaller Country Cousin.
More handle for grip, but very little difference in the blade lengths.

As to the blades, I think the Bull Nose's blade is at least 3/8" to 1/2" longer than the Country Cousin's blade. Pretty good but for me not really an issue. The most striking difference is the difference between blade steels - 01 for the Bull Nose and D2 for the Country Cousin. To some, the D2 gives the advantage to the Country Cousin but I have to say that the 01 perforums beautifully in combination with the Bull Nose. GEC does a great job with it.

The other farm & field knives would also look good in micarta. A single bladed 47 with micarta or wood would be a must have for me.

Get ahold of one of those Dremel sanding/polishing bits with the cupped end. Probably the 1/8" size tip would do. Don't put it in a Dremel motor but twirl it holding it between your thumb and forefinger with the cup on the end of the pivot pin. Easy does it and you should be able to break the sharp edge of the pin easy-peezy. I use these sanding/polishing bits to turn/smooth pins on cover pins and spring pins when needed.

Thank you, sir, for the advice. I'll try exactly what you suggest. I used an old buffing compound impregnated cloth buffing wheel on a dremel and it made o bit of difference, but not enough.

I prefer O1 over D2 any time. I love a good patina on my traditional knives.

Finally got our camera back so I was able to get some shots of my Canvas Bull Nose

Nice Paul. The only fault that anyone could find with these knives is the pivot pin but as I've said above, I think it gives the Bull Nose just that little extra bit of ruggedness.

I totally agree with you Ed...and your suggestion using the dremel bit between your fingers is perfect

i really like mine, rough edges and all. The linen micarta's pivot pin is not as rough as the canvas micarta's picot pin, but it's still more rough than the other Bullnose knives. I'll take some photos tomorrow if I can get some good daylight.

I picked up a canvas micarta Bullnose as well. Here is a picture of it with a glownose from the previous run.
Great working knives
