Gec bullnose

You don't typically see folders with O1 do they offer it in any other models? =)

See Trev's post below mine for more accurate information.

I just so happen to have an O1 that I will be listing on the exchange if my order is not cancelled.

The Bullnose used to be made in 01 but are now made in 1095. 2015 was the first run in 1095, all previous runs were 01 tool steel. I believe that the whole Farm and Field series was 01 until 2015.

YIKES! That really stinks! I know Derrick feels really bad about it.

Talking about the selling process belongs elsewhere. Here, we just talk about knives.

I want to take the polish on my burlap bullnose that came in today after seeing all these pics. I thought the burlap would look more like the Provo burlap. Then again, the polished could grow on me once I get in the sun.

I shouldn't comment until I get some time in the sun with a knife. The burlap comes out in sunlight and looks amazing. I'm very happy.

Yeah, I never rush into making a mod to a knife until I live with it awhile, just for this reason.

In the last few weeks I added an orange, burlap, and canvas. They are all fairly similar and very stiff. I have a 2013 run in black delrin. Very snappy and solid but it's much, much easier to open up. I can easily pinch it open. The newer ones I can with a large amount of effort.

The black one car to me used so it might be softer or it might just be broken in.

I have an older knifebrite with the 01 steel that has a soft pull and is nice and slim, a bit different from every other Bullnose I have had which all had pretty heavy pulls.

It seems like the micarta handled knives need a liberal oiling to loosen them up. Maybe GEC uses less oil to prevent the micarta from getting stained. Just a thought.

Yeah my burlap was a nail breaker (literally). I worked the heck out of it this weekend and it got worse. I didn't want to lube it and prevent wear in, but I had to put some oil on the pivot. I can just barely pinch it open. It's pretty tough.
