Gec bullnose

Could be. The guy was referencing a knife he'd just received but I don't think the consensus was that the blade steel on the current run of the Bull Nose knives was bad. Too many other posts about this run that had glowing reports.

i second this. all the of mine from the current run cut very well.

Glad to see the denim arrive! It was delayed by weather.

Looks nice! The pins look good against the denim. Like the darkened pivot hardware too. [emoji106]

My orange arrived today. I like it so far. The pull is pleasantly stiff, but not a problem. Blade thickness doesn't bother me, and it seems to have a decent factory edge, although I'm sure I'll end up reprofiling it.

Same boat here. Mine was supposed to land today, but I have to wait another...
But that means I have two toys landing tomorrow;
My new Sodbuster and my new Belt Grinder. :D

I'll say this about the steel. My 47's sharpen with just a couple swipes down the Lansky the 71 not so much.

Picked my bullnose up. Thought I ordered a blue denim. I got a black micarta. That will be the last time I do rapid fire ordering. Oh well... such is life. I'm too lazy to return it. So, looks like I'll toss it in the box with the other GEC's. It's a nice knife, but not one I would have normally ordered.

Got my denim. I really like it, but the finish is not what I expected. The pivot pin is not finished at all, but still in it's raw cut state. It is pretty sharp to the touch, feels like it is gonna cut my finger (probably not). Some of the other bullnose pics look as if that pin is rounded down. Also, 3/4 of the handle is sanded down nicely, but the top 1/4 of one side still has a polished finish. Lastly, the top edge of the micarta on both sides is sharp and unbeveled. The pic above looks like that edge was rounded.

This black micarta is actually a pretty nice knife. Blade needed a bit of a touch up on sharpening, but just about perfect now. The scale edges are rounded, just in case you aren't familiar with the black ones. Maybe I'll give it a whirl in my pocket. I would imagine the blue denim should be exactly the same in terms of finish.

My Denim Micarta came in. This is actually my first GEC, I was only able to order this one since I had President's Day off, and was able to get the email about the sale in time. Easy pull, and sharp out of the tube. I like it so far.

What do you mean the scale edges are rounded? Just curious as I am keen on ordering a black one

Rounded; Sanded to remove the sharp edges versus left squared off. I'd want them no other way.

If you look at the picture above of the denim #71, the edges near the pivot are fairly sharp and the edges of the scales near the opposite end are rounded. Maybe that helps...

I have only been carrying my orange. Today I took out the natural Micarta. Edge had a chip in it and wasn't that sharp so I gave it a nice sharpening.
