Gec bullnose

Well I just got mine, and I LOVE it! My first Burlap micarta anything, but I did not like the "slick" gloss so I sanded it with some scothbrite pads, and I like it a lot better now. It feels grippy, but a silky satin finish. I may sand it more in the future though. The leather lanyard and desert ironwood fits well with these covers. Thanks Mike @CK for this one! The canvas ones look great as well, may have to track one down.

How come the blade is still shiny?

Here are two OD Green Canvas Micarta #71s. They both looked like the bottom one when they arrived but you can see the difference between the top one (used and carried daily) and the bottom one (never used or carried). I suppose I could sand the top one but it'll only darken and become smooth after a couple of weeks of use and carry.

I'm not seeing any of the pictures sent by people posting pics via tapatal. What's up with that?.

Great post Ed, the micarta really does darken and smooth out with use. Here is a picture of my natural canvas, it started out very light like the new run and this is what it looks like after being carried and used.

i'm still waiting for the knives ship free denim micarta bullnose -- anyone hear anything about its release?

I sent a message the other day asking for an estimate on the arrival but didn't hear back. I'm guessing(hoping) that they hit their site early next week.

You satin treatment looks fantastic! I was just wondering what it would look like. You certainly answered that question. Can I ask how you achieved that look - ie. scotch-brite, sandpaper ect. and what grit you ended up with?
