GEC Huckleberry Boy's Knife

I think these sheepsfoot guys will finally force me to join the barlow cult. :)

The completed smooth white bone ones don't show any evidence of the ez open though, I guess this must be for future models not yet finished?

I know the Boys Knife will be an EO, not sure on the barlow.

Yet another knife I must have. Sheepsfoot, wooden scales and bolsters. Every time I think I've found all the knives I need a new beauty pops up.

I am sure we will see Boy's #15s with Sheepfoot Blades and EO notches, real soon!!
But EO notches on standard sized Barlows is something I have not seen, nor do I plan any.

That is the new sheepsfoot EO Boy's Knife, I'm thinkin'. Sweeet!!!

When I saw the shield, I thought they were an SFO for a large scout troop somewhere, otherwise it doesn't make sense.
They already have a Scout knife (#73) and it's not a scout pattern (utility multi-tool) so I'm a little mystified.

Maybe this run will offer a can opener and a saw blade? :D

Seriously, though - this is a bit of a mystery. Curious to find out more...

Charlie, I wasn't too keen on the new sheepsfoot barlows. Email inbound, I think I need one.

Jack, it has come back on my doorstep, and if I can get out of work on time and to the PO, it will go back out to your gals address. I was going to send it this past Saturday, but I was informed early in the AM that I was to be going to my grandmothers house for some impromptu yard work. She has been living with my parents for the past some odd years, and the city was nice enough to let us know the grass was too high. I have driven past many vacant lots in Baltimore, with grass that was too high. This grass was not that high, but we took care of it. I must have had a chauffeurs hat on instead of my ball cap, because all I did after that was chauffeur people around.

I am glad it turned up, we shall try again my friend, I apologize for the tardiness on my end. Your Royal Mail buddies at least got it back to me ;).

The allure of the Boy's knives for me was the lack of a shield and no etching. I'll pass if they're all fitted with a shield.

After seeing some of the old Remington jacks, most shadow patterns, only one bolster, I would like to see GEC come out with a single bolster #15. I have given away both of the ones I picked up, and gone kinda nuts on the Charlows. I think that I need to pick up a new 15.

Thanks again for your patience Dan, as well as your generosity :)

"Charlow" = Charlie + Barlow, named in honor of Charlie (BFC member WAYNORTH) who worked w/ GEC to get these designed and built; they're his SFO's.

Yep! Three cheers for Charlie and his brilliant masterpiece - the Charlow - a perfect reproduction of the all-time classic Barlow :)

This was my understanding as well. The one place where I saw preliminary info about the #15 EO models said the same - no etch, no shield. Perhaps what we're seeing above is just a part of the run. Not all of the knives in their gallery have a shield.

I'm very interested in this new sheepsfoot charlow, but with the possibility of an EO 15 soon after, and who knows that blade style offerings, I'm going to be patient and wait to see what comes out. I don't want to buy one and see another soon after I want more. I need to moderate my spending. Tempting though.
