GEC Huckleberry Boy's Knife

Can somebody help me out as to where to get one of these? I'm not having a lot of luck doing my own searches.

Thanks,

Brian

Check out the forum section called, The Good The Bad and The Ugly where there was a topic recently with the same question. I bought mine from one of the dealers listed in that topic.

The Great Eastern website also has a list of official dealers.

If you still have trouble, send me a PM - I saw one recently at another site.

You can check the GEC website for their list of dealers. Any specific dealer recommendations should be made via PM, VM or email. The exception to this is; if a dealer is a BF Dealer member they can be referenced in a post.

Thanks,

I am very happy with my Boy's/Girl's Knives!! The mechanicals, nearly identical with the TC Barlows are super - like a nice old Remington or NYC!! Suits my hand just right!!
I'm hard pressed to say which handles I like best! The Ebony might have an edge (pun intended!), but the Nifebright is more fun, now that I am retired and have grandchildren!
Now I just need a pair of Doc Martins!!:D

Great pictures, Charlie!

...the last one took me a moment, but there it is!

I wonder how hold he was before he could open it? ;)

I've said it before and will again, but using glow-in-the-dark acrylic was an inspired choice for boys of all ages. ;)

Doc Martens, check.

Uh, what (reference) am I missing?

You can find these knives at www.collectorknives.net run by Mike Latham (knifeswapper) who is a Blade Forums Dealer Member. When the home page comes up, click Great Eastern in the left pane.

I just ordered rust bone in 2 blade from collector knives. Now the wait begins:eek:

I don't think you missed anything, Sarah. . . . .?? All knives have edges of a sort (the pun). . . .??
Bare feet, maybe??

Anybody got a pic of a single blade version with the blade closed?

Thanks to some help from a friend, I found some closed pics. I was concerned about how high the tang protrudes above the handle when closed. Doesn't look like it would be a problem at all.

Now I have another question for anyone who owns a single blade Huckleberry: Can the blade be pinched open without the use of the nail pull?

Thanks!

Not on the two-blade version, if that's any help. The action is very smooth, but those springs aren't slouches and the blades don't ride that far up above the handles. Geometry's not on your side either, as the far end of the blade spine is beveled and completely un-grabbable.

Thanks Bob that was very helpful. I appreciate the other responses too. I'm really liking the jigged bone in this pattern.

Little better pic now (still phone, but much sharper at least). Patina is starting -- 5 or 6 apples have got a good start going.

Can I get some phonetic spelling of Tidioute? I think I know how I would say it but would like to know if what I am thinking is correct. Thanks

Tid ee oot is how I've been pronouncing it. Not sure if that is correct.
