I just braved the rain to extract my just delivered natural canvas from the mailbox and opened it up.
It's a beauty! Perfect 5 pull with no grittiness and that bouncy snap that usually only comes on the stainless models. Perfect centering, no blade rap, and shaving sharp (barely) right out of the tube. Flash pic because of the rain.

I'm wanting one with some fat stage on it. I think a fat one would make a great user.

For me the 43 is a belt sheath knife that will be paired with a smaller pocket knife.
I've got it oiled, sharpened and put to work, planting trees, cutting canvas and cardboard.

Sorry I should have identified it. GEC #68 Pony Jack.
Anybody know how many they made in stag? wanting to know if I would have a better chance of getting struck by lightning than getting one.
It will be tough to file ~57 RC hardened steel. Maybe a dremel with a proper tool, but I could see that ending up a mess.I bought an orange one totally forgetting I had one on pre-order and ended up with one creamsicle and one blood orange. Blood orange is the keeper for me since it's a better match to my 74 version of that same color, and creamsicle will be going up for sale on the exchange at some point. Both are nicely matched front and back, though, which is awesome. I seem to remember a lot of the 74s had drastically different front and back scales.

And here with li'l sister Mustang.

I'm very happy with my three and yet I'm still feeling tempted by the antique green with the bull shield. We'll see if any are still in stock on payday.

Question: The nail nick in the swedge on the Northfield model makes it more difficult (sometimes impossible) for me to pinch open. Does anyone know if it would be possible to use a file (or other tool) to make the crescent of the nail nick wider so the horizontal part at the top is more of a ledge to get purchase on? I'm picturing something like this, although maybe not even that drastic. Or would that be a very bad idea?

Wow that's not many..fingers crossed!!Don't know for sure. You would need to call GEC and I'm not sure they would have an exact number to tell you immediately. I will take a shot at an uneducated random guess - Excluding the 2016 beer scout run GEC usually puts out somewhere between 100-200 per cover. This greatly varies from anywhere from 1 to over 650 as in the beer scout run. Guessing off the number of camels on dealer sites, and dealers posting that the stag run was going to be short, I bet you will see around 10 per dealer. Even if each dealer has 20 or 50 it's more about right place/right time. My random guess is around 80.
Missed out? Not to late is it?Bummed I missed out on the stag #43...oh well still got these two!
