GEC new #43 pattern, who’s excited?

That’s funny. The nick in the swedge is the biggest reason I didn’t get a NF version. I dislike that. But if we all liked the same thing, we’d all be carrying gerber paraframes or some nonsense lol.

Also a fan of the nail nick in the swedge:thumbsup:...goes good with stag too:p

These are some pretty bad pictures of my last # 43 . Orange Camel Bone /// F & F is great /// No Blade Rap /// Blade is centered /// Walk & Talk is fine and I have not cleaned it out yet /// Bade Pull is probably 5 and Smooth . Picked this knife up in Tennessee and had my choice between 3 and also got a Pin with it . Photos were taken in a motel room with my phone .

Very nice, Harry!
Mine also has no blade rap, but several guys mentioned that their’s did. That’s made me more attentive to how I close it. Really no need to let a slipjoint slam shut unless you only have one hand free.

I’ve gotten into the habit of closing knives gently so I don’t notice if a knife has blade rap or not. It eliminates the possibility. I enjoy the walk and talk on the open just fine by itself, but to each their own. I understand wanting to hear it snap shut.

I had a feeling that this was the best of the run, and now I am pretty certain it is. Stronger pull than my Stag, no blade rap, perfectly centered, beautiful jigged bone, and the Beaver shield! Thanks very much to my friend who made this one available to me.

BTW, Copperberry Copperberry after reading about your wedding day accident on a different thread, your remark about that 43 jumping into your pocket makes me very nervous!

That’s fair, though I’m a fair bit more selective about using the proper tool for the job nowadays ;)

Besides I have to be more careful now, I wouldn’t survive another accident — my wife would kill me

So I recently rediscovered a knife that had caught my eye when it first came out, but for some reason fell off of my radar. When watching a description video of the knife in a post on bladeforums, it reminded me of the GEC #43. I did some comparing, and I think it has less in common than I initially thought, but I thought I'd throw it up on here just to see what others think. I've tried to get pictures that are similar, and I've add the specs from a dealer website as well. The overall length and construction seem somewhat close to me. The handle shape on the Boker is more like a GEC 73, but the blade shape and size of the knife seems closer to the 43. It is a shadow pattern, of course, and it has stainless steel and is made in China. It is also quite a bit lighter, due to the milled liners.

What do you all think? Does anyone own the Boker Plus Slack as well as a 43?

The pull is nice, about a 5 or so and as usual the fit and finish is immaculate.
I’m not a big fan of lanyard holes but thought this was done well.
