GEC Rendezvous 2023 Announced

This was also my first picnic and it was an amazing time; I got some awesome knives But more importantly I met some amazing people and had some wonderful conversations. It was great to meet some of the greats like Charlie, Lyle, and of course Bill and William. @Heynowwww, and Travman Travman it was great to meet you and chat as well. Anyone else where I may not have connected you name to the BF handle… cheers! And also to some of the dealers that were there, great conversations and great people!

I camped out Thursday night, and while I may not do that again…. It was splendid experience. Chatting late into the night with folks about knives and life and enjoying some beverages. I rolled over on my keys and hit the panic button on my car so if a car alarm woke you up in the middle of the night, it was me and I’m sorry! 😅

I passed on the rendezvous knifes; but made a great haul (the 77 alone was worth it!!) . I’ll be getting some more picture up/taken but here are a bunch of my grabs, the area, and the event, and the factory. I ventured past the picnic area and took some glamor shots at down in the oil creek - beautiful area.

*I have some other pictures of people and their collections but don’t want to post them without their permission. It was great to see others sharing this hobby and passion.

It was a grand time for sure and I hope to make it again next year.

Thanks for the photos and comments, Jeremy! 👍🏻

I so thoroughly enjoyed this rendezvous, like Yogi it was déjà vu all over again. It's been five years since I got back because of different health and travel complications.
A lot of new people and many of the familiar ones were hard to put in place. It was really nice putting a handshake to everyone.

Travman I'm sorry, I never did mesh you with the guy who posts on our thread, and I'm sorry I never spent more time talking about our farmers jacks.( I kept taking glances at you and I couldn't figure you out, I knew there was something) I was tired from the drive and that first night of tossing and turning all night, but I owe you. I really like the "newer custodians " I met and hope to get more familiar with everyone.

Here's my Rendezvous knife. I always liked the muskrat pattern. I would have loved if Bill had put a whole baker special blade on this Rendezvous knife but it's a dandy anyway. Bill and GEC have been so considerate of their patronage.
I wish people knew how much this company tries to accommodate their patronage. We're so lucky to have a man like Bill Howard, so dedicated to our passions.

I had a great time at the rendezvous from camping out Thursday night/ Friday morning with my dad to get the rendezvous knife and cattle knife. Then getting to come back Saturday with my wife and getting to snag the red stag ben hogan and green viper. She bought a nice 56 in jigged bone and bought her dad a nice 77 barlow which turned out to be a SFA version for 2022. It has the wrong tube and cap from what I’ve gathered and looks to be the same one as other 1 of 5s I saw this weekend. And I got to grab my buddy at work a 33 pattern that he really likes. Pretty awesome time getting to finally meet some people in person that I’ve only ever chatted with online. Hope to see y’all back next year! IMG_6331.jpeg

Here's a few pictures I took trying to capture the whole crowd at the picnic.

The last one is being mailed.

Lyle, was so happy to hang out with you and Charlie not to mention buying and trading, Donna wasn't too happy about the trade but she will get over it.😆😆

We just pulled back into the driveway a couple hours ago, will take a couple days to take pictures, bought and traded a lot of knives but more importantly got to meet up and hang out with many friends made over the years.

Once again a great Rendezvous!!!

Missy’s Arcade in downtown Titusvile is a popular place to eat breakfast after a long night waiting in line. Jigged Acrylic on this SFA 59. To my knowledg, this may be the first time GEC has ever used jigged acrylic. It looks like hard candy when the light hits it.

Astounding Bone this one has! Would love to see it offered on more knives, has a lot of ageing potential I think. (they should re-think the 34 Forum Knife and use THIS Bone) Your Waterfall is also a very tidy item

Very glad to see the pix, some exciting & choice knives, good luck to all who were able to get or trade what they really wanted. Very nice picture of Charlie C. fine shape. We in Europe can only gape on in awe...I just need to get that personal steam Yacht in order :D:cool:

Regards, Will

Thanks Will I think they will use this style bone more in the future. The slight bit of color hides the fact that there is some polishing compound impregnated into the bone much better than a pure white bone handle.
