GEC Rendezvous and Picnic!

Contemplating stopping by for a couple hours tomorrow morning as I'm, sort of, in the neighborhood - at least compared to where I normally am. That would be all the time I could afford, first thing in the morning, Thursday. Anyone have knowledge of how much will be happening at that time?

I will be packing up tonight, and hitting the highway first thing in the morning.

Edit: wait a minute today is Wednesday. I will be headed out FRIDAY morning. Has it been that long of a week??

Two Canucks heading out shortly to start the 6 hour drive. Stopping in Bradford tonight to do the Case Knife factory tour at 9 AM before heading off to Titusville for the the factory tour. Have to head back home Saturday before the picnic unfortunately

,,,Mike in Canada

The doors open at 7:00! There are a bunch of knives for sale in the store, and 16+ Rendezvous knives each day until all 50 are sold.
Factory tours all day, and a whole bunch of knife "show and tell" and yakity yak!!

OhBoyOhBoyOhBoyOhBoyOhBoyOhBoyOhBoyOhBoy!

I will be out front comically early on Saturday - my one shot at something unique! I hope they save some for folks who can only make Saturday.

I'm you on Friday, haha. This is my shot!

I'm sure if they sell all of the extra special knives to people crazier than me, I'll find something I like in the store...

Pam and I went to Great Eastern this morning. We paid for our picnic meals. We talked to Christine for a few minutes and then Bill walked up. I stuck my hand out to him and he started trying to wipe off his hand I told him I was shaking a working mans hand not to worry! :) I tried to sneak a peek in the store but Christine would have none of that!!!:D It will be fun for sure!

the cross creek? is a golf resort

ah didnt know that. id figure thered be atleast a chase there, coming from nyc, they have branches alllll over. hopefully this time ill get to spend more time in town. last year the rain cancelled the beer festival. also got to know a few of the attendees more in the facebook group, definitely a good time.

What's the beer festival?

I also got a couple parts knives that I ended up parting with, but here are the last 3 years of Rendezvous Knives (the years I've been there):

The year previous was a swinguard #65 clip point in blue bone. It's magnificent, and I really would like to have one but I've held off because they don't come up often and I'd guess they'd command a premium, which would go against the purpose of collecting the knives (I get them as a token of the experience, and they're once a year and usually super reasonable on price). I haven't seen any of the previous years' knives.

I may have the shortest drive. 20 miles there, and 20 back again. Don't even need a hotel ;)

Wow! I thought I was close. Nice!

How's it going this year everyone?

I always really liked that improved trapper Rendezvous knife.

There was an outside shot at heading to Titusville, but when I asked the boys if they'd like to go to Lancaster and ride the Strasburg Railroad, Titusville didn't win out. Maybe next year.

Have fun in Titusville everyone.

We'll be headed to Cooperstown as soon as the boys get grub. Baseball HOF coming up. I wish I was in the town of the unofficial traditional knives HOF. Next year my friends.

My 57 along for the ride.

I didn't realize how much Tobacco the Amish raised.
They pretty much quit growing it in Maryland.
