GEC Rendezvous and Picnic!

The local weather is calling for chance of thunderstorms tonight, Friday and Friday night, and chance of showers Saturday. I hope that doesn't dampen the party or the town festival too much. Maybe we'll get lucky and it will be scattered and miss Titusville.

Rockon75,
Sorry you're missing the Rendezvous, but Cooperstown sounds like a fantastic trip. I'm sure you and the boys will have a splendid time!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

(Actually, for a couple of years now, I've thought that a "grail trip" would take me to Cooperstown AND Titusville area for Case, Queen, and GEC at Rendezvous time! :D)

Kay guys, I kept hearing about how people come out in the middle of the night and camp out for the Rendezvous knife. Seeing as this is likely my only time to come to the Rendezvous, I wanted to take a shot at getting one.

Long story short, I'm posting this at 3:23 am on GEC's front stoop... and I'm the only one here! o_O

Having a great time with great people,so much fun to meet Duncan and Paul and get together again with Charlie,Lyle, their wives and all the others.
The Rendezvous knife is a beautiful 38 in abalone done with the higher grade abalone, beautiful colors.
Colin, the line Thursday morning was about 30 people long at 7am with 3 or so that camped out on the porch most of the night. Donna and I were about 15th in line and about the last to get that days allotment of Rendezvous knives.
More details and pictures will have to wait until I can get home to a better Internet connection.

Thanks 5K Qs 5K Qs . We turned off the car in Kiington, VT before the day was over.

Stropping Young Lad Stropping Young Lad good work. Hope you find a few that "tickle your fancy".

Enjoy day 2 everyone!

The parts knives and store knives are interesting this year, lots of stag handled knives from 2013 that have shields, several one off knives that disappeared quick, I picked up a 92 with black acrylic handles that was the only one. Also picked up a stag 79 workhorse ans a stag cotton sampler, wife found a great stag 06 with wonderful stag for such a small knife.

Any updates Colin??

Yup! I just stopped back at the hotel to fetch the wife. I got a Rendezvous knife... and an embarrassing amount of store knives... which I'll probably have to sell a couple of...

Maybe it's posted already, but I didn't see it... what's the Rendezvous knife this year?

Glad your not in jail
