Nothing like another winter storm in April. We're looking at possibly another 14 inches of snow. Cities southwest of here are reporting 16 already and its headed right this way. It is a lovely winter we're having this spring.

Got some good news from my boss today. Looks like I'll be getting 3 weeks of paid vacation a year pretty soon. I haven't had any of that for darn near six years, so I'm pretty pumped. Being able to take a paid week off sounds absolutely wonderful.

nearly 80 here today and the rest of the week haha !! i love spring but i feel for you guys hope it warms up soon for ya!

It was 77° here today, 66° now. 55° tonight, and a high of 50° tomorrow. Rain in the forecast through Thursday.

Last year in the middle of March the ice came off the lake and we actually got a day or two up to 70 degrees. I think that so far this year we hit 40 once and the lake is still covered in ice. It has definitely been a weird winter.

It was definitely a damn good day to work outside.

Got a lot of shit done, just wish it wasn't so windy so I could have burned the brush pile.

didn't get any burning done, but spent 3 or so hours on the tractor with the brush hog clearing fire lanes, creating walk/jog paths, and mowing down opportunistic stuff like locust and dogwood. (I don't mind the established clusters, but don't want them taking everything else over)
I also spent some time wishing I had a tractor scabbard for the .22 -- I spooked up several FAT cottontails.

It was in the 60's today, had some rain shortly before sunset -- rest of the week is going to be in the 40's and low 50's with hard frosts in the forecast for the weekend when I'm trying out my new lighter weight sleeping bag in the hammock.
hoping the 28 degree low Friday morning stuns or kills some of the ticks - since it means I probably won't have any wild plums this year, I should at least get SOME sort of benefit out of it, right?.

I had blackened crappie cooked on the lake shore in LBL today. Washed it down with a few Black & Tans. Well, somebody had to do it.

Sounds like you had a good day. The trails here aren't grown up too bad yet, I did take the blade off the mower the other day and put the mower on today.

If you decide to fashion a scabbard for your tractor, please post some pics. Sounds interesting.

Sucks about the cold snap coming up. Maybe some sprigs of asparagus will be up before the freeze. Mushrooms are on their way.

Bless you, sir.:D

you probably overlooked something :D

har, har... probably so, I only see in infrared.... :)

Did you listen when they told you what goes bad after 50? :(

not sure I haven't made it there yet, however when I do I'm sure I'll have another moment of reflection :p

twas nice out today, went bike riding with the kiddos on some new trails they laid down here at the local park... also got to use my new bone collector today probing for termite damage whilst talking with the termite guy at the new place....

yeah, termite activity ... house hadn't been lived in for 18 months so owners discontinued service and I guess they either swarmed last fall or spring, not to bad but worrisome nonetheless...

I hear ya. I was going to hopefully rake gumballs for the last time, but it was so windy, it wasn't worth it.

You know, life is just tough sometimes. That reminds me, I need to get a backpacking rod and reel too. Looks like I need to sell more stuff.
