I'm all about supporting the makers here. I would think buying one of their handmade blades offered in the knife makers sell forum, would help determine if a custom would be down the road.
Someone may find that a hand made knife fills the boxes the same as a custom.
Insults? You seem a bit confused. Dialogue was made civilly and I was able to better understand the point of the OP. Fight your own battles, dude. Feel free to PM, stop muddying the thread with whatever it is you feel you're doing.Whatever, dude. I spoke from knowledge. You from ignorance. Your first post in this thread was an insult or don't you know what the word pretentious means? Hence my not so friendly response. You made assumptions about me and the knife and both were wrong. The only confused one is you.Insults? You seem a bit confused. Dialogue was made civilly and I was able to better understand the point of the OP. Fight your own battles, dude. Right here first sentence. Followed by an assumption that was incorrect.Given how pretentious the OP seems, I'll go ahead and say "why buy something that was designed by someone other than yourself with little input on the design?" It seems like if your paying that price, you should take the time to research materials and shapes, and design something for your own hand. It's not "custom" unless it's bespoke. I like Charlie Mike here and Dylan Farnham for stuff like this.
Next person should say "Well then why don't you learn to make your own knives?" Its all relative.
That said, I Just grabbed a production Perrin push dagger in 440c for 30.00 and it's not bad at all. Sheath is great.
I have owned "customs" with lesser fit and materials than productions of the same price as well...
I don't think the OP minds my posts. You, maybe a little different.Feel free to PM, stop muddying the thread with whatever it is you feel you're doing.
Its was phrased rhetorically. "You" didn't mean "shinyedges" and I intended "OP" to refer to the original post, not poster.Right here first sentence. Followed by an assumption that was incorrect.
I am the original poster. Nothing pretentious about the OP. You wandered in here insulting people acting like you know it all, here to educate usIts was phrased rhetorically. "You" didn't mean "shinyedges" and I intended "OP" to refer to the original post, not poster.
I don't think that's what I did at all. Cheers.I am the original poster. Nothing pretentious about the OP. You wandered in here insulting people acting like you know it all, here to educate us
You're new to the party![]()
To be fair there are lots of knives I have bought with design features I never knew I would have liked.
Actually i wouldn’t even know what to request in a design for a knife if it wan’t for all the knives I’ve bought where I had no input in the design.
For example a perfect custom design for me has a bunch of features I learned from disigns that weren’t my own. I would have never come up with a street beat style handle on my own. I would have never known how much I like a butt ring without owning some knives that feature it. I wouldn’t know how much I like a sharpened swedge for pulling cuts.
Without owning all those excellent designs the knife I would come up with would probably be something like the episode where Homer Simpson designs a car.
Effyea smatchet! Cause, you know...fuggin SMATHET! TookSMATCHET!
