Gentleman's Folder

Am I the only one like this?

"Darn, I just bought 2 knives this week and I shouldn't have bought X model because for the same money I could have had that sweet XX model in this thread!" :D

Nah. Lots of the knives in this topic are quite affordable.

It doesn't take a fortune to build a decent collection either. If you bought one knife a month on average and you're 40 years old, you'd have 480 pocketknives. I've got some catching up to do... must have missed a month here and there. ;)

If you don't mind the flashy pocket clip, the BM Nagara is a good choice. I've been EDCing it for about 6 weeks and it performs well.

You probably weren't thinking this my friend, but I believe you have struck at the core of this website......

About four posters get it. We have seen a lot of good worthy knives, but they have not been "gentlemens knives". The term has a specific meaning. Gentlemen's knives are small, trim, elegant, and of fine materials and workmanship.

The Macusta and the Fallkniven TK3 qualify, if a hair on the large size. Most of the others don't remotely come close. Here's a sampling of knives that do:

How about the Al Mar Hawk? Lots of very nice scale materials, 2-3/4" blade, sleek, clipless, great quality. The Falcon has a blade just over 3" if you need a bigger knife.

That's a beauty manowar669,

I like the Eagle Utra-Lite @ about 4" blade or the Kershaw Gentleman's Knife shown in this thread I think.

Not one hand opening, but very elegant, effective and affordable. Queen #06L teardrop linerlock. 3-7/8" closed, D2 steel, around $65.

With one hand opening, how about a Case Trapperlock in CV. Good carbon steel 3" blade for around $75.

True! If the clip wasn't so blingy the Nagara would be a more "social" folder.
Shame .

Found a bunch of these on a fantasy, "mall ninja" website. Only $19.95!!

That was probably the store owner's hand in cuffs when they arrested him. :D

And what about these Benchmade:

Both aren't terribly expensive (well, the Shoki is, at $170 :() and at least to my eyes definitively look the part.

I would also consider Lone Wolf Wolfgang. Yes, it has a black blade and a clip :), but I think the cocobolo beats both of those "cons" :)
