Jim said in post #11 that one person was only one off. The numbers guessed in post 1-10 were: 45, 33, 37, 42, 36, 55, 46. So we know it's not any of those numbers. we also know the right number has to be plus or minus 1 of any of those numbers (unless plus or minus 1 equals one of the other guessed numbers.)

If my facts and calculations are correct, the only numbers worth guessing are 32, 34, 35, 38, 41, 43, 44, 47, 56 or 57.

How many numbers can I guess Jim?

I was going to jump in but after doing my calculations and then reading some more of the thread I see I am totally off base!!!! :D
I figured you had your first born at 20 years old and then the second at 22 and the third at 28. This would make your younguns 43, 41, and 35 respectively. Then I tried to figure the ages of their little ones with the info you gave us. I figured the 43 year old had the 13 year old grand child and the 35er had the one year old. Then I just guessed at the ages of the other siblings and I came up with 12 and 10 for the 41 year older, and 10, 8, and 5 for the 35er. That would make my guess of the total of the ages of all you grand kids 59, which I know is wrong because it's not one away from any of the numbers the guys chose in the first 10 posts! :D

Close, but youngest got married first, oldest second, middle Last. He is the one with the youngest. I Got married at 19, my Mother would not sign for me so she had me emancipated so I could make the decision on my own as she thought it was a mistake. Well 43 years later we are still married and she is still my sweetheart.:D
Oldest born in 66, next in 70, last in 73.

It is apparent to me that Farmer Phil is doing some real thinking here. To further confuse you, I only had five of seven today, steps went elsewhere.:grumpy: Now if I take away their ages I am left with the number of 34. So where were we now?:D I am so old I forget, IG had it right, I am an old @#$%.
