Get some G-11 Free at $0 expense.

I got it Wednesday. Thank you very much.

I cut some today with a wet tile saw with a diamond blade. A little slow but no dust. When I get another finished with the G-11 I will post a photo for you.

Thanks again James.

Jim,

This whole time I've been calling it G-10, but I see it's actually G-11. What's the difference?

Thanks, Phil

I wish I knew for sure, for a year or so, I called it G-10, but found that sticker several months ago, saying it was G-11. I think it is manufactured to higher tolerances or something. I know it was used in high voltage control panels for Westinghouse. They were building them for use in Dams being built in the Mid-East. At least that is what I was told.
I have heard that there are two actual grades of G-11, one has a high flame resistance and the other better insulating qualities. I have no idea of what grade this stuff is, other than it is harder than metal in a lot of cases.

Sorry I could not help you more,
Jim

Contest is officially Over, The magic number is and was 56. I enjoyed the diversion and hope you guys enjoyed playing along.

I would like to see knives or jigs out of this material. I have not bought every knife with it being used on, but have purchased about 10 so far. It really makes a nice handle on slippies or fixed blades. I have some samples of it being used on my sale thread.

Thanks for playing.
Congrats to winners.
Jim
BTW: I will try to get all out Monday, but I do need address and sizes preferred.

Jim I guess 69......am I close? lol

Sorry,
Jim
