Getting frustrated, Can't get GW at store

I"m sure he is doing well....but he could be doing better.

For those of you who can't read, let me repeat in larger letters: I GOT MY KNIFE. I am not looking to get another. I am not whining because I am not a member of the secret knife society.

I am observing that this method of distribution is flawed. If you don't agree, odds are that you are a collector. Anyone who just wants to buy a knife would find the whole thing a tremendous hassle.

I think any businessman wants to make a profit. This is not a profit maximizing distribution model. If anyone wants to debate that point, I'm listening....Otherwise, I've got better things to do....

Oh, in case you missed it the first two times, I GOT MY KNIFE.

Oh you got one.. then it worked.

What you are saying in general is just dead wrong.
This distribution system works, and I'm the case that proves you wrong. I found Busse in July of 2006 and as of now I have about 50 Busse Knives and 30 of them are the super secret illusive Game Wardens.

Also I don’t sit in front of a computer f5ing. I actually have a demanding job and an equally demanding personal life so I can’t chase knives all day.

Now what you can do (or anyone else) is read Skunks posts and figure out when the knives will show up. The Muddy Warden is the only one that I recall where no notice was given.

Also if you don’t want to buy from the store there is the aftermarket. Usually you can find a Warden at less than 15% above the company store price. Say one was 217 plus 14 shipping for 241.00 add 10% for 265 and add a little shipping. So for maybe 25.00 you don’t have to F5 for three hours to get a knife. I don’t know about your but I can do a bunch of things that are worth way more than $9.00 and hour. One of then is sleep!

Also there are Swamp Rats and Scrap Yard knives; no one owes anyone a Busse. There has not yet been a constructional amendment that says this is a right and not a privilege.

the system works just have to learn how to play with the other HOGS,very ingenius marketing idea

actually i got two but have been doing this for about an hour now. It was light outside when I started.

Now, this is really annoying! I have been on the computer for 20 minutes and nothing comes and this guy says he just scored one or two. HOW???

If you have no problem selling all of the knives you can or want to make then I would say it a perfectly valid method. I would say it is not a profit maximizing distrubution method if the store was full of unsold knives.

I ve been trying to get a Busse GW for months now, But I'm not going to bitch about it ( well maybe a little) But what I'm finding is that a lot of the resales only ship to the lower 48 and I am in Canada, thats the only reason I try the company store.

There is a difference between stepping up to the basketball court, demanding the ball and insisting on using it to play soccer, vs asking the guys what game they are playing and watching so you can learn. Learning implies that it will take you a bit of time to get the hang of it.

Soccer balls are on aisle 17- plenty in stock, no waiting.

BTW- put me down for one of Jaxx's "I've been F5ing all day and all I got was this crappy Tshirt" tshirts. That would make a great gift to all the soccer players out there.;)

Hoss, you're in here with 13 posts and telling people who've been on the Busse forums for years how they ought to be doing their business.

I'm sure glad you have it all figured out.

I have heart problems, I should go about this in a fun way. Bitching might give me another heart attack.:D :D

People will ship to Canada, BTW our Post Office will cash Canadian postal MO's
Good luck

Personally, I think Jerry is a GREAT businessman. Can you name any other knife maker that can make 100+ knives and put them up for sale and they're all gone in the matter of minutes??? I think that the business model he has come up with is quite effective… he gets top dollar for his knives (another debate altogether) and they sell like there’s no tomorrow. What more could any business owner want? As a buyer… there are alternatives, no one is forcing you to buy a Busse. And forgive me for pointing out the obvious… but you yourself spent the time to get one. If it bothered you so much… why did you do it? How is it that you ended up here on the Busse forum? Did this forum lead you to the Company Store? Does signing up for the forum put you in the GEEK category?

Altogether, there are 15 model variations in the GW line, with only one left to be released. I think there were plenty of chances for anyone who wanted one to score one… at the store or on the secondary market.

There's an easy way to solve all this complaining and that is to make the GW a part of the regular lineup! That was my idea when I asked for this model about 7 months ago.

I know US will cash Canadian postal orders , but when you see GW up on the secondary market the sellers post will usually say lower 48 only.

De Oppresso Liber-

as you often do, you misread the post.

Please read it again, carefully, before you apologize.

TIA

The system seems to me to be more than fair, it would be easy to just raise the price till it took days instead of minutes for the Busse Company Store to run out of a particular knife.

I too am interested in getting a New Model Game Warden at the Company Store price, but I do not like all of them and will be watching for ones that Peak my interest, I want one simply as a user, same as my Pork Belly Skinner.

I think it will work well as a Small Game and stream fishing knife and could come in handy for when I kill pigs and Beef, we shall see.

My preference would be for a .140 Coated blade with maybe a Green G-10 or a plain Tan Micarta handle.

Looks like I will end up buying on the secondary market.

And That's ok, Way better for me than placing an order, paying up front for that order and waiting for the 9 months and 17 Days I waited for the first half of my first order back in 1999!!!
