Getting frustrated, Can't get GW at store

The system seems to me to be more than fair, it would be easy to just raise the price till it took days instead of minutes for the Busse Company Store to run out of a particular knife.

I too am interested in getting a New Model Game Warden at the Company Store price, but I do not like all of them and will be watching for ones that Peak my interest, I want one simply as a user, same as my Pork Belly Skinner.

I think it will work well as a Small Game and stream fishing knife and could come in handy for when I kill pigs and Beef, we shall see.

My preference would be for a .140 Coated blade with maybe a Green G-10 or a plain Tan Micarta handle.

Looks like I will end up buying on the secondary market.

And That's ok, Way better for me than placing an order, paying up front for that order and waiting for the 9 months and 17 Days I waited for the first half of my first order back in 1999!!!

Yo Andre, can we get a pic of the Original Game Warden Please!
Thanks bro

Personally, I think Jerry is a GREAT businessman.

I'm afraid I'll have to disagree on that point, Lil' Foo. A GREAT businessman understands the law of supply and demand. If a businessman creates a product that's snapped up in a matter of minutes, he's obviously priced the product below its market value. No matter how you slice it and dice it (pun intended), that's not something a GREAT businessman would continue to do.

Those who complain about the system should keep in mind that the world will continue to beat a path to Jerry's door as long as he keeps selling his knives for less than they're worth. Your only choice is to get in line and keep your fingers crossed or go to the secondary market and pay what Jerry could make if he possessed the business acumen to charge the right prices for his products in the first place.

I think Jerry's business tactics are revolutionary. He knows just how many knives to produce, and still keeps demand up AND makes it fun and challenging to acquire them...

AC

P.S. He also drops everything to get USGI orders out to our fighting men and women across the globe. He is a top of the line
businessman in my book!!!

I'm in Australia and I ordered my first Busse about 3 weeks ago a CG FBM.
I do not come to this forum very often but have been watching the company store for 3-4 days. The first time I saw a game warden I waited too long and got nothing the next time I saw them about 5 hours later I quickly double clicked and got 2 yellow jackets. I immediately put one back then came to this forum to research what I had in my cart. I didn't particularly like the yellow jacket so I released it also. The next day I came back and saw that the store was closed and thought that I might try a refresh on the quater hour, I got two more, again I released one and consulted the forum to find out what a Mud skeleton warden looked like, let that go also. Last night I checked the store about 8.00 pm just before turning off my computer for the night; it would have been well after midnight in the US. I picked up 2 orange handled Game Wardens and decided to keep both. If had been more knowledgeable and aware of the resales that are going on I could have picked up 7 probably more in 4 days without all this F5ing. I don’t know what you are all complaining about.

I have to disagree with this; Jerry I am sure makes the majority of his money from his Military contracts. From what I have seen here he has added a new building every year and is running 3 shifts. He does not direct sell his knives except for 1 model at a time. The Busse company store is a separate company that contracts for knives from the factory and then sells them at a markup to make their profit. Same goes for Swamp Rat knives, and I would think also Scrap Yard, not sure about them though.

Jerry’s' knives are price pointed out of the factory at what he feels is the price necessary to keep all his employees working and to turn a profit for him. The online stores are price pointed to ensure a quick turnover of inventory and make the profit the store owners find acceptable. Everyone should be making money and it keeps a lot of people employed, sounds like a good business plan to me.
Sure Jerry could stop selling to BCS and Swamp Rat and direct sell his own blades and probably at a higher mark up. But he would then have to hire more admin types to handle this bloating his payroll and would be susceptible to the whims of the marketplace. If it slows down does he cut jobs or carry the people at a loss? When it gets busy does he hire untrained labor and hope to get them trained up in time and that his QA dept catches all the mistakes?
I was one of the people when I first came here who was vocal about how hard it was to procure a Busse, but after watching it all in action for a while, I would have to say that Jerry has come up with an ingenious plan that pretty much insulates his core business from external market forces and allows him a controlled expansion of his company.

De Oppresso Liber-

Still waiting for you check my last post requesting you reread my basketball analogy.

Unsurprisingly, you came away with the completely wrong impression and I am patiently awaiting your correction regarding the "whineing" (sic) comment.

Again, Thanks In Advance.

I do have another analogy about guys that show up to the neighborhood basketball court wearing a complete NBA jersey with complimenting old school Starter jacket, headband, sweatbands, anklebands, the latest Addias and a boom box blasting Top 40 safe for radio rap. You can tell this guy from the rest because he is screaming "LOOK AT ME- I'M OPEN!!! I'M OPEN!!!" while waving his arms frantically to attract attention.

But I am sure that is just me "whineing" (sic) again.

I"m sure he is doing well....but he could be doing better.

For those of you who can't read, let me repeat in larger letters: I GOT MY KNIFE. I am not looking to get another. I am not whining because I am not a member of the secret knife society.

I am observing that this method of distribution is flawed. If you don't agree, odds are that you are a collector. Anyone who just wants to buy a knife would find the whole thing a tremendous hassle.

I think any businessman wants to make a profit. This is not a profit maximizing distribution model. If anyone wants to debate that point, I'm listening....Otherwise, I've got better things to do....

Oh, in case you missed it the first two times, I GOT MY KNIFE.

you know, i sometimes wish i couldnt read, then i wouldnt have been insulted by what you have written.

ill bet jerry and skunk make a fine profit.

so, you got your knife, yet still throw insults.

how about.........shut the hell up and go away!

I have to disagree with this; . . .
I hear you, Micky. If the situation going on in this thread was a rare occurrence, I'd be more inclinced to agree with you. But the fact is, somebody in the manufacturing and distribution channel is CONSISTENTLY leaving money on the table. And that's not smart business.

OK I turn around to give AnythingDull some *** and there went the Tigers again... Who's GOT my BACK???!!! LOL Anyone? Bueller??? :D Dang me, dang me, go ahead and...!!

it does however, allow more people to buy more knives. and i would bet jerry has a sufficient profit margin.

sometimes the best business isnt looking for the highest profit.

Skunk..... it's getting tense in here, release more infi quick!
or at least get that white rabbit ready for a battle.

the bottom line is that if jerry made more money he would buy more booze and then drink more and grind less.

this way jerry is somewhat sober and making a living, the other way is a diminishing supply of knives because jerry will be drunk under is desk with phone and bottle bumps on his forehead.

its all self leveling it think?
