Give-Away Criteria

Thanks for all the comments, guys. I can't wait to see how this sodbuster Jr. turns out. A knife buried for so long. Makes me wonder if it's all pitted up.

Give the Sodbuster to the Pie Man.

Please consider this my post for the survival knife. I teach wilderness survival to local Boy Scouts, encourage them to create their own outdoor survival kits, and carry them on every outing. (It is mostly to foster an attitude of self reliance, and secondarily, to teach them some useful skills.) To encourage them to think creatively and to analyze their unique survival strategies I emphasize that their kit should not look exactly like mine, or just be taken from a list in a book; it should be the result of their own, independent, decision making process. Since a good knife is the heart of any survival kit, I like to show them a variety of tools, and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each. The Pilot Knife would be an additional, unique example for them to handle and learn how to use. (O.K. Time to come clean; I would also really enjoy owning that wickedly cool knife. Sorry, I just felt a little dishonest not admitting to a tad of self interest, but then, I'm a knife knut, so you have to make allowances.)

Screw another thread. This one has already been going on for nearly two months. Give it to one of the two people who responded and move on with this.

Well, the Pilot Survival give-away was supposed to end yesterday, but I got caught up and forgot about it. I'll check the replies and pick a winner momentarily...

Send me your information please :)

Thanks to everybody who posted, whether or not you entered or won. There are a few things I need to post, and I'd like everybody to read them. It's been fun, but it's time to get these out to their new homes.

1. Please double-check that you've sent me your shipping information and user name, preferably from the BladeForums link in my profile instead of a direct E-mail.
2. The knives will go out soon, but keep in mind that I'm paying shipping and it's going to cost more than the $90 I originally thought. Just for six, it totalled $70-something dollars. Please be patient, but know that they are coming.
3. I ask that when you receive your knife, let me know via E-mail. Please post a photo of it (preferably in this thread) as it comes out of the package. If you want to do a review, modifications, etc. it's your knife and do as you wish, but please post an out-of-the-box photo and let me know when it arrives.
4. Please triple-check that I have your shipping information.
5. When you receive your package from me, there will also be a slip of paper with a number on it. Save this paper and don't post the number; it will come into play when I confirm that all packages have been received. Please no discussion on what the numbers are for.
6. Enjoy the knives!

Thanks to all for playing and hopefully the wait is worth the pay-off for everyone. Everybody be safe and go cut something

Thanks again, J, for the incredible gesture and the interesting experiment!

ah! what are the numbers for! I'm so damn curious now. Specially with the ban on discussion on the numbers. I'm just going to sit here and discuss it with myself then...

Do you have a list of people you have shipping info for? I sent mine but just thought it worth making sure you received it.

Have fun with the knife countyrat.

Thanks for the giveaway, I sent my shipping info through email because I don't have access to private messaging.

Your generosity is overwhelming. I sent my shipping information some time back, so I'm not sure if you have it. If you need it again, let me know. Thanks again.
