Giveaway #77 Barlow! Nominate your fellow BF Members!

I'd like to nominate Chin (Cambertree). He's been pretty informative in the hunting thread and he will definitely carry and use this knife. No need to worry about it being put away!

(*I'll pitch in the shipping cost since he lives overseas)

Quite surprised to see my name up here, Jake, that's really kind of you, mate.

Yes, I reckon the hunting thread's had some great photos and posts this year. I love seeing the different parts of the world and types of country other people come from.

There's so many great Porch folk that make this such an exceptionally fun and interesting place to hang out - too many deserving people to name, so I'll just nominate two.

Jack Black: not only for the time spent on meticulously encouraging, welcoming and thanking everybody who has the pleasure of chatting with him here; but for the time and thought he has taken to frame really good thread ideas, ask thoughtful questions of other posters and offer his own knowledge and insights in a way that really maintains and elevates the high standard of discussion here on the Porch.

Something, tells me that he likely wouldn't accept, were he to win this GAW; if I'm wrong, let this be my nomination.

And my second nomination is for Gary - 5KQs for the welcoming atmosphere and gracious comments he makes in any thread he frequents. His regular EDC wrap ups have become a Porch institution, and it didn't seem quite the same when he slowed down in his posting for a while, earlier this year.

Also, GT - I can applaud the good judgment of a fellow, who despite having a seriously crowded carry schedule to fulfil, can bend the rules every now and then to sneak an old favourite into his pocket, regardless. :p:D:thumbup:

And, I think I recall you saying in the past that you don't have any GECs - it's not one of your beloved canoes, but it's a pretty dang nice knife, nonetheless.

Cheers.

Thank you all for the response so far, I love reading all of the great stories! Keep 'em coming everybody.

When I think about the porch Jake (supratentorial) always comes to mind. Jake has a world of information that he freely shares with all. Can't help but notice anytime a new member introduces themselves he is always one of the first to welcome them on board. He is also one of the old timers here as he will be celebrating 10 years on the porch the 19th of this month.

I nominate Supratentorial(Jake). A gentleman and scholar, from whom I've learned so much. Also I would like to nominate Lycosa, not often seen here , but a good man and one I'm proud to call(at least here on bf) a friend.
Thanks, Neal
Ps- I would be remiss if I didn't also include R Redden. Good man and full of insight.

Great idea! Although I don't converse with many of you as much as I would like, I really do appreciate the knowledge and camaraderie that is inherent on the "Porch". So many fine individuals!

Paul Hilborn - graciously gifted me a Leatherman Skeletool when he found out that a trade I made for one here on BF went horribly wrong and I was bilked out of a Leatherman Wave. In addition to his now legendary generosity he is a most friendly fella and a pleasure to converse with.

Gevonovich - I have always appreciated his comments on knives I have posted in the "Totin" thread. One of the members who made me feel welcome when I first started getting into traditional knives.

Timberweasel - Another member who graciously gifted a knife (and a multi-tool) to me out of nowhere. A fine upstanding Canadian!

Flatblackcapo - I have really enjoyed discussing and trying out various knives of his making over the years.

Pearl2291 - Scott is just a great guy who has fantastic taste in knives and is a pleasure to converse with.

Thank you all!

One more nomination: Gevonovich, a gracious gentleman who has more than once made me smile. Thanks, Gev! :)

I nominate Jeff, aka blackmamba - because he rules. And also Pat, who goes by huntnfishin - because he also rules.

Another great member not nominated yet is Flymon.

I asked a question about GEC, when I first wandered on in , and he sent me a 23 Northfield Yellow Rose to get me hooked!

Jolipapa - Alan lives in Paris, France and he helped me get an SFO only obtainable from a French speaking cutlery shop in Auxerre, France that doesn't have a website. There's no way I could have gotten that knife without his help. He also tossed in some very nice little keepsakes from across the sea.

I'd like to nominate Randy (rredden). I have found Randy to be extremely generous to other members, and also very thoughtful and caring. Even with his own personal health issues to deal with, he seems to be focused on others' well being. Getting to know him just a little has made me a better person.

Glenn

seconded! id like to nominate my friend Randy rredden as well! quite a generous man, good friend as well important frequent flyer on the porch!

I would like to nominate Primble as his photography skill is unmatched on this forum in my humble opinion. (I'm sure I've spent countless hours oogaling his knife photos over the past few years and enjoyed every minute of it)

Modoc ED - he doesn't suffer fools, tolerate any nonsense, or have patience for poor thread etiquette...but he is a kind and generous man under that tough exterior.

I nominate Bob aka BigBiscuit. Bobs gifts of knowledge, knives and most of all his friendship make him one of our finest. I am proud to call him my friend.
