Giveaway #77 Barlow! Nominate your fellow BF Members!

...
Paulhilborn - A true cornerstone to the porch imo and a guy I'd drive across the country for if he needed it.

+5K!:thumbup: I'm totally with Brett on this one.
When I read the OP, the very first person that came to mind was Paul - his generosity is legendary!!

Here's one more nomination, before I get back to the work I should be doing! It's another person that I don't see posting here very often lately, but I think he'll still drop into an Opinel thread now and then. ;)
davek14 is very generous in a lot of ways, and he taught me much about knifely pursuits in terms of patience, and attitude, and not trying to go against your nature. He sent me a several of the wonderful, inexpensive, kinda beat-up old knives that I enjoy as much as, if not more than, my shiny new inexpensive knives.

What a fantastic GAW! Like others have said, there are so many good folks here; it is really difficult to sort.

Randy (r redden), Alan (joeradza), Jake (supratentorial), Paul Hilborn, GT (5K Qs), Terry (wtlj), Bob (Big Biscuit).

I’m sure that I’ve left out a couple of dozen

It is a testament to several people that their names have appeared so often!

I would be remiss if I did not also add Jack Black! I have learned so much from him. He will give good information backed up with photos and other documentation to add to ones knowledge. His review of the items on his famous table are also very instructive.

One example not really related to knives, but definitely to Jack: I asked him about viaducts and he sent me 22 photos of ones around Britain. A Fantastic fellow!:thumbup:

Geez, all these other posts have made me feel bad about the amazing forum people that didn't immediately come to my mind. I couldn't possibly list them all, but a few do stand out:

PaulHilborn - Paul just seems like an amazing upbeat and positive person. Quick to respond to a post, question, or whatnot, and always making the forum members feel wanted. Thanks Paul!

CampbellClanman Duncan has an infectiously happy personality, and it shows in his contributions to the forum. He loves life, friendships, and his knives, and as Paul said, not many people would track you across the world for a visit!

Jack Black Our UK connection. I have been extremely entertained by his posts, be it pictures from a quick trip, or remembrances of visits with Stan. And his information regarding cutlery on that side of the pond has been very informative. Thanks Jack!

Campbellclanman
Because hes a poor simple kiwi and they need our help.

Now I see I can nominate several people.
In no particular order
Jack Black
Charlie
Pmew
Fes (mia)
Evan
Glennbad
KBA
Frank
Gary

I would like to add a second entry for Harry, aka, Old Engineer.

I consider him my stag brother! He certainly has plenty of it and always loves to see other stag knives as well. Very positive guy and always complimenting others. Hi Harry!

AFAustin - Andrew and I have had lots of conversations by PM and email. Our tastes in knives is very similar and I think that Andrew contributes a lot to this forum with his posts and pictures of knives that he has modified. When Andrew gets a new knife he often likes to make it his own by doing blade modifications. He sometimes will make a post about his mods and I find those posts very inspirational. He's a great guy too and it's always a pleasant surprise when I get an email or PM from him.

This thread may be getting too big for me to keep track of all the nominations, but I'm quite sure there are at least a couple of glaring oversights that I want to remedy. Two gentleman that have always treated me with kindness, generosity, and respect are Dean (RDaneel) and Mike (LastRodeo). I'll nominate one in this post and one in my next post.

I'm honored to throw RDaneel's hat into the ring!

I nominate Jack Black because......well, he's Jack Black! :D

I wholeheartedly second (well, it's probably more like fourth or tenth ) Jack Black!
He has contributed so much in so many ways to so many!!:cool:
I think I once referred to Jack as The Godfather of The Porch, and I mean that in a totally positive and admiring way!:D
I'll even invent a campaign slogan for Jack: JKK/JKP = Jack Knows Knives/Jack Knows People ;)

To all my close friend's here if I haven't nominated you it's because someone else has and I want to list some that have not been nominated yet. So here goes
Joey (SVTFreak) super nice and generous guy.
Ernie1980 what can I say about this guy. If you have spent any time at all on the porch you know what an incredible member Ernie is.

Hope y'all don't mind, but I got a couple I'd like to nominate.
First up Primble. A very knowledgeable and generous man who gave me my very first Case knife in his "Instant Case Give Away" a couple years back.

Next up, JC57, who gifted me a Case Canoe piggyback to Primbles knife.
He is also a very well versed in knives, and he likes the Canoe pattern.

Markesharp, who sent me a box of knives he had a GAW for. Very generous, and some really nice knives in the box.

300Bucks (although lately seems he spends most of his time in the Buck forum) for his knowledge of Everything Buck, especially the 300 series when questions arrise.

Waynorth for all his hard work on TWO consecutive BF knives, and creating the Texas size 4 blade camp knife.
