Glennbad's 20th BF anniversary (a year late!) GAW **Winners Announced**

20 years you say? We were all younger then :-)

I would like to enter your GAW. Thank you for the generous opportunity. We talked some time ago, I was interested in having the secondary blade on a nice Case Barlow removed, but your books were closed.

The way I came here was my search for a Trapper sized knife with a saw blade. I knew MUCH less about traditional folders back then. I already had some US made Schrade OT's, yet was not familiar with the OT97. It has become my favorite traditional.

Should the knife gods play in my favor, the Mitchel caught my eyes.

Nice GA, Glenn!!! Not an entry for me - I already have a lot of your work - but kudos for all that you add to make these Forums a nice place to hang out!!
If I can, I nominate Oldy Oldy for a chance at one of your knives!!
Here's to another 20 years!!!

Congrats on your 20 I have and will continue to enjoy the porch, I have now gotten into buying the beaters at flea market making them back into working knives.

I would love a chance at the green bone Schrade

Congrats on the longevity, Glenn, glad you're here! I came to BladeForums through a Google search of some knife steel alloy, and plenty of excellent info was found. I started to look into the other categories and . . . . got hooked! Put me in for the Schrade Walden 196, please.

Not an entry, but congrats on your 21 years here and thank you for running such a lovely GAW. :)

This #86 recover you did (a gift from my friend Jakeywax31 Jakeywax31 ) is my most-carried traditional knife.

Happy 21ish years

I found bladeforums while trying to learn about a Springfield Randall that belongs to my G-grandfather.

I've never been able to leave things along and love making, modifying and building things. Posts from people like you and G² and many many others really drew me in. The old knives grabbed my attention because I already loved to research old American watch companies so reading about the knives was just as interesting.

It's been really fun recovering and repairing knives. Here is one that started it's like exactly like the one you show in your post. A Klein (Utica) with the tang stamp ground off. I have a long way to go to be good at it, but the journey sure is exciting.

This is the first blade I've ground, hardened, tempered and finished myself. Recently completed for a friction folder project. 1080. Definitely not finely finished but not too bad. I'm looking forward to beating it up.

I can't find a picture of a sheath right now so I'll just say that my leather working has gotten much better since joining the forum as well. Lol!

I'd like to get in on that Kutmaster if it's ok. That is a very cool knife! Thanks for the generous GAW! This place is definitely one of a kind.

You do qualify...you have at least 100 posts, and I'm sure there's a few meaningful ones in there...
But my Gold expired, and I won't have funds to renew or go basic for a couple months.
There are other not cutlery related things I need more.

Either way, I'll sit this one out. I've entered at least two GAWS already this year. ☹️ (I didn't win)
I don't want to enter many. GAWS are not why I hang out here. I don't want folks to think they are. 😇

Congrats on your 20! I cant believe i have been here 10 myself! Ill play, i dont remember exactly how i got here, i was always researching knives i saw or found at flea markets and BF always came up so i made an account and here i am 10 years later. Everyone here is so kind and knowledgeable, its a great place to "hang out" i will enter for the EO utility knife

Hey congrats on this milestone! I am many many years away! I heard about bladeforums probably 2 years ago? When I discovered GEC through the Facebook groups, which led me here!

I’m really impressed by the people on the forums, as you’ve seen lots have just posted a comment sharing best wishes and choosing not to participate in the GAW!

Hoping to learn more and getting to know more people better over the years!

Would love a chance for the Jeff Mitchell! Thank you for doing this GAW and all the best!

Congratulations on the 21 years. Those are some very interesting looking knives you've put together there. I believe I heard a couple of "cutlery-nerds" talking about bladeforums on that podcast (the one Charlie has been on like 4 times now, those are my favorite episodes) and came to check it out. After being a non-paying member for a little I decided it was worth paying to post pictures and to support the forum.

I'd like to be put in for the Franklin lifter if I do indeed qualify.

I'm in, Franken-lifter. Be a great anniversary knife, 20 years member in November.
What brought me to BF looking for quality knives & info. Not huge market here in Australia.
I stay for the community it surpasses knives, it reminds me that there are still a lot of great people in the world despite what the media says about the internet.
These days most of the knives I edc are traditionals gifted to me by BF members how cool is that😎
Thanks for the GAW!

Congratulations Glen on your 21 year milestone !

I joined BF in 2017 however did not started posting on the Porch until 2019 when I "discovered" the joy of traditional pocket knives.

I stayed because of the genuine camaraderie given generously from so many members and the fact that I continue to enjoy carrying ( and showing too :) ) my traditionals as well as learning about our hobby.

I would like to enter for the Franken-lifter

One of my first posts back in early 2019
