Glock 26 Vs. PM9

Picked up some snap caps and a Pierce grip extender, I think I'm going to really enjoy carrying this.

Nice pistol

I would invest in another grip extender - and put at least 500 rounds thru the gun before carrying it. Or relying on it in any way for that matter. But that should be maybe two trips to the range. Or one if you are really ambitious but I would divide it into two trips to get the most out of it.

And good job on the snap caps! I take it you will be doing allot of dry firing - that is definately a good thing :)

man ya like to shoot a LOT more tham i do lol, 200 rounds is about tops for me in an afternoon, on a kahr anyway, lots less outta a .44 mag, or heaven forbid a scandium .357 mag "J" frame snubbie.

i remember i wanted to put 200 rounds thru my P9 and PM9 to break them in (not on the same afternoon either) and after 150 or so i was starting to wear out, my aim was suffering also.

I easily did 500 rounds on a weekend to break in my 9mm Kahr!! But then, I had the opportunity to go shooting every weekend, and I did!! I miss that.

My buddy said he put 500 rounds thru his 2 Glocks over the weekend - a G19 & G36, shot 300 & 200 rounds respectively. Now this dude is a bit extreme - he does sets of pushups in between magazines in order to keep the heart rate up & maximize the fatigue factor...

I'm good for about 300 rounds thru the G36 (.45cal sub-compact w/ 1round grip extensions). But that pistol is suprisingly comfortable to shoot all things considered. Same goes for rifles ~300 - 350 rounds is a good outing for me but more than that & I end up with a headache - not to mention hearing issues (aye? what's that you say?) LOL.

I consider shooting the original American Martial Art & aside from Hapkido, it is about the most fun you can have with your clothes on LOL ;)

That's nothing. During a training training weekend, myself and my training partner put 2500rds each through our glocks using wolf ammo w/ no cleaning. We generally go through 250-300rds each when we go out and practice. I try to clean every few thousand rounds or so since it's my carry piece.

Compare that to the top-of-the-line Springfeild TRP Operator i played with a couple weeks back that jammed 3 times in a box of 50. I'll stick with my glock.

JGD, your buddy is a smart guy. When we get the opportunity to train outdoors, we generally do wind sprints or grapple prior to the fight command. Train hard, fight hard.

And congrats on the Khar, i trust it will serve you well for your purpose.

Thanks, it's been great so far. I'm not 21 yet so I still have to wait for my CCW, but I've been shooting it every weekend, keeping it clean and carrying it around my house to get used to it/try out different holsters. I added a Houge Hand-All Jr grip to it, and it makes the gun 100% more comfortable.

I seem to remember you saying you carried the Kahr in a BladeTech holster, do you have any pics of the gun/holster combo? I'm thinking of picking up their "deep concealment" IWB and wanted to see a few pics first.

Thanks!

careful with the houge grips. They can very easily bind on your clothing because they're a bit tacky. You're not carrying yet so you may not have run into it, but they can really botch your draw when you're trying to clear your cover garment quick.

Friend of mine had houge grips on his sig 228 for years, sent his glock 19 back to glock to replace a defective tritium sight and he carried the sig for a week. Threw the houge grips out within an hour of dry practice

No, I don't have any pix of my Blade-Tech gun/ holster combo. Sorry. Also, make sure you buy yourself a high quality gun belt!! I can not stress the importance of a good belt.

Thanks for the info. I've been carrying the gun unloaded around my place and have done quite a few practice draws, and I haven't seen any issues yet. I'm actually able to grab the gun easier with the grips on versus the standard polymer frame.

I'll be doing a ton of practice before I carry it, but so far the Hogues seem to work fine.

I really like the wrap around grips that came on my Elite 98's. They are VERY comfy. I think they are Hogue.
