Glock 26 Vs. PM9

And no facts or even opinion to support your statement?

If you read back a page or two in this post you'll see I've already bought a PM9, and am very happy with it. I'm focusing more now on a good holster.

for my p40 i have a don hume iwb, very nice. galco also makes nice leather. for kydex i would go with bladetech or blackhawk. excellent quality and pretty reasonable. i had a fobus which broke the first time i used it.
i posted my bladetechs on the previous page.

I'm focusing more now on a good holster.

I've been using kydex since i started carrying, but recently i've made the decision to switch to leather. Some guys i train with went and trained with southnarc and just about everyone with kydex ended with a broken holster. Personally, i've broken several clips off my kydex holster so that was no big shock. Leather is simply stronger.

Aside from that, the speed of kydex kind of worked against them at clinch distances when it came to retention. People were getting their own guns used against them even if they were trained in retention. Leather, tends to flex and bind up when you try and draw from an angle other than the upward drawstroke it was designed for, hence, better inherent retention.

So, for those reasons i'm switching to leather. I've selected a Fist #20. That model may or may not suit your needs, but Fist makes some excellent holsters and they come in many styles.

while i dont know about stronger imho leather is a lot more comfy than kydex, isnt so stiff, but for a cheap knock around holster the fobus is hard to beat.

i also strongly believe that ya can draw from leather quicker.

it's definately stronger by virtue of being not nearly as brittle. kydex will crack

A properly hard molded leather holster should be plenty fast.

fobus is really easy to break and can be ripped off the hip by an aggressor with ease. I don't recommend them for carry, and don't recommend them for the range since you should practice with what you carry.

never had any probs with mine of course i only wear OWB when deer hunting so i only wear it a few times a year. and hey what do ya expect for $19.95??

i dont like the way kydex "grips" the pistol, i would rather have leather any day, i think i can draw faster from a leather IWB w/a safety strap vs a kydex OWB without one. and i'm not just speaking of galco, i have tried out some fairly expensive kydex rigs, of course the "snick" and holsters like that dont count.

The better kydex rigs are certainly fast, but as always it's the operator more than the equipment

I've used a Galco holster for my Glock 26 for about a year. The retention is good and it's very comfortable. (It gives a little when I need it to.) I don't have a PM9 but the holster looks to be about the same. I think I paid about $39 on line.

For production leather, I'm happy with Galco for gun belts and holsters. They make a nice looking dress belt that is double thick for holsters. I wear that belt even when I am not carrying...it is simply a very nice belt...that happens to be stiff enough to properly hold a holster. ;)

I have both and seem to carry the PM9 more. The weight and thickness make the PM9 an easier choice for me. The trigger gets better on the PM9 the more you shoot it. Also the PM9 NEEDS a break in period. Being an old Glock shooter, the break-in about made me toss the gun... looking for a number in the manual to complain, I read about the break-in period... duh... after the initial 200 rounds, I've not had a jam in over 1300 rounds.

I've got two Kahrs, an MK9 and a K9. Neither one needed a break-in period. Both fed whatever I gave them - ball, hollowpoint, JSPs, whatever - without a hitch. Glocks are good guns, but I've shot both and the trigger on the Kahr felt far superior to the Glocks I've used. I'd go with Kahr without hesitation.

I've decided to go with the P9 from Kahr. A tiny bit bigger than the PM9, but fits my whole hand perfectly. The Glock 26 doesn't fit me at all.

Kahr here I come. I get some free range time with it from the shop when I buy it, so I'll do my best to get it broken in well. I'm hearing about 300 rounds to get them to stop jamming, and about 500 before they become real smooth. I'm gonna be carrying it in a Galco IWB holster as well.

One tip: CLEAN IT BEFORE YOU SHOOT IT!!!! I found that cleaning and oiling my guns before shooting them really made the break-in period go smoother. I swear by M-Pro7 cleaning products, but just about anything will work if you use it properly. As for reliability, both Glocks and Kahrs are top-notch.
