God Save the Queen!!

I just keep learning things today. I didn't know Queen made knives for Kabar. It doesn't surprise, me, I just didn't know it. Is there any way to tell if a Kabar was made by Queen?
Queen also made parts for Case, Utica, Bear, Col Coon, Cripple Creek, and about 100 SFO brands. They made a lot of money by doing work for other companies over the past 50 years.

Who knew that Queen had such Ugly Ancestors?? 😲
Undoubtedly produced when the cutlery was called Schatt & Morgan (look at the pricing), they seem to have been purposely unsophisticated, but one can imagine them serving a rough trade!!😏Ugly 1.jpg
Imagine mailing all that tonnage for only 6 cents!!🤣
These are off to a new owner, so I thought I'd do a farewell tour!!
Presenting knives for the eye of the beholder😊;Ugly 2.jpgUgly 3.jpgUgly 4.jpg

Wow there a stunning piece of Queens history Charlie I'm sure you made someone's day ( Besides your own of course lol) when you closed that deal.

Queen made Schatt and Morgans.

Not as vintage as some of the awesome posts, I'm happy to get my hands on these.

Oh, and sorry for the yellow, orange and red table cloth 😁

All those that know the long historic saga of the 'Schatt & Morgan' and 'Queen' brands, will certainly see and understand the irony of this knife put out by the Queen/S&M firm.
It was a run of 100 pieces made to commemorate what was to be a new beginning for the Queen/S&M company after it was purchased from the parent firm of the Ontario knife Company.
This new beginning was to hopefully become a grand revival of these two name brands under new ownership.

But, of course, we all now know that this new beginning was not to become the start of the company's major revival, but rather the beginning of it's final demise.
The aspirations for growing the firm back to a popular, high quality, and prosperous firm during this 'Dawn of a New Era', was truly what the new owner wanted and intended to do. But, ultimately, gremlins caused the company to be shuttered.
This 'Dawn of a New Era' wound up becoming the era in which would all see the loss of yet another historic firm.
The famous brands from the bankrupted company have since been purchased and are now stamped on new knives, but it does not change the fact that the Queen Company did go defunct.

This S&M/Queen made split-back Whittler has tang stamps of both brands. It's main blade has both sides of it's tang stamped, (one side with the S&M stamp, the other side having the Queen stamp).
The handle scales are made of Mother of Pearl with a thin strip of Abalone, these scales being pinned with German nickel silver pins. It has a thin black lining between the scales and the German nickel silver frame.
Blade material is American sourced 420HC stainless steel.

My box of knife boxes was overflowing and I needed space, so I started to rearrange them when I came upon this:

This was my father-in-law's knife that I came into possession of after he passed away in early 2020. He wasn't a knife guy and this is the only one we found. I really don't know how it came to be in my box of boxes. I suspect I just stashed it there because I don't usually collect fixed blades and I had no other place to put it. It was also a dark time back then, having lost several family members in a very short period of time. Needless to say, the rearranging of the boxes took much longer than I thought it would.
