God Save the Queen!!

A new picture of my favorite Queen/S&M: #063150 reverse gunstock stockman from 1993.

Doctor's knives. Queen made some beauties. Haven't seen a dedicated thread for a long time. Here are a pair of similar knives. The winterbottom was a Dan Burke and the acorn shielded mammoth handle version was made for AG Russell. Very thin blade stock used on these, quite flexible like a filet knife.20220517_191318.jpg Next are some more Dan Burke models. Supermodels imo. The Burke Serpentine Doctors in black lip and abalone. BG-42 bkades. Milled liner, wraparound spring on the pen. Superb fit and finish. The Burke's were supposed to turn into an annual like the Case Bose annuals but it stopped after about 3 models as i recall.

More Queen Burke goodness. The English Gentleman in White MOP and Black Lip Pearl. As above, BG-42, milled liners, wraparound springs. And they carved the mop handles like the Sheffield mesters of old. I wonder if they used a cnc milling machine or if they were hand crafted.20220517_193008_HDR.jpg20220517_193021_HDR.jpg

Several years after the pearl handled versions they came out with a stag model, the Sheffield Jack. While nice knives they are not like the pearl handled models. I assume they were using up leftover parts as the English Gentleman was expensive. Fit and finish is a step down, the liners are not milled. No "Q DB" stamp on the tang. Never knew what to make of the wood handled Sheffield Jack. No markings whatsoever. Either a lunchbox knife or proto of some sort. Fit and finish a solid step down again on this one but I just happened upon it and she was unique.

Couple ebony handled examples. The moose is a Schatt & Morgan branded knife but another what I think was a parts knife made from leftover parts from the 2010 annual, they were available in 2011. Beast of a knife with 8-9 level pulls and a closing snap like a muscrat trap. The QCCC is superb. Flush springs in all 6 positions and just a great knife. Wish I had multiples.

Good to see this thread up and about again, I'd completely forgotten about it. However, pleased to announce a super arrival last week: WCSB Stockman in D2, this knife is as faultless as a factory knife can be. 😍 Queen held the crown alright then, but at the end it was frankly tarnished, or was it The empress has no clothes? ;)

Haven't had the luck to get me much, but I have this one and it is very special, so let me post it once more. 2004 Schatt&Morgan Genuine MOP Reverse Peanut. Polished MOP makes a unique feel, very smooth and kind of soft. Maybe it could be called "soft-touch" by modern standards. IMG_20230224_114329.jpg
