God Save the Queen!!

IMG_8389.jpegIMG_8390.jpegCurrently my only Queen made knife is this “Robeson”, Railsplitter, in antique green bone. Not sure what year it was produced. It would be interesting to see a timeline of all the Railsplitters that Queen built under the different brand names. Lance

Nice. The Mountain Man is a true classic.
Nice example!!!
Thanks, Jim & Charlie. I appreciate the comments, friends.

I have a Mountain Man in 1095 that I believe I got from Carl Risner, but your stag is MUCH more dramatic than mine. Mine also does not have the Jimping on the back of the blade, did yours come like that? I also have a Mountain Man in 440C, I got in mid-1970's, marked on the blade in an arc "The Mountain Man" then below that "Queen Steel #1440" "Made in the USA." It has the Queen "Q & Crown" and a "7" on the tang. Nice flat scales of Delrin? John
PS: Forgot to mention that the 1970's Mountain man does have jimping on the spine of the blade, but not as deep as on your model.
Thanks, John. This one of mine is actually bone not stag. I believe it was built much more recently than your 70's model. I picked it up from a dealer if I remember right about 2015-16 or so. It did come like this with the deep cut Jimping on the blade. I'm not sure what steel it has but I don't think it is 1095 or a variation of high carbon steel as it doesn't seem to patina easily. These things are sturdy knives built for hard work as I'm sure you already know. Thanks for the interest, friend.

sunknife, I believe they also came with blades of D2, which would explain why it does not seem to patina easily. John

Three men on a mountain... ;)

Just ordered a 2005 NKCA Youth knife, a Queen #56 single blade coke bottle with buffalo horn covers, very excited to get a look at it in person. Also received these blanks from the Queen factory auctions, added to the pile of materials to use if I ever actually try making a folder, or if that fails just some cool history to have. Always loved big broad blades like this, make for a great cutters.
