Golokathon

Do you mind if you post a ball park price on each of these blades as you know them?

That would really help me decide.

TF

The Farmer Dangerous Curves lists for $180 plus $45 for the sheath on his site.

The Bark Rivers vary with handle material, but are $200 and up with sheath.

The Valiant Survival lists for $70 plus about $21 for air mail shipping.

The Martindale went for $42.50 plus $19.50 shipping from England. I hear you can find them cheaper in the US.

I got the Hopkinson at Brigade QM some time ago. They called it the British Special forces golok. I have also seen it called a jungle knife. It was around $70.

I got the Condor at Blade. I am not sure what the selling price will be with the sheath. I'm just guessing around $40 or so. Ask joezila.

I hope this helps.

Your Welcome OldPhysics, Picture's dont do a DFarmer Knife justice, It's when you hold one of his Knive's In Hand that you Feel The Balance & Perfection, I've got a small collection of his Knive's building up, The 1 1/2" Wooden Slat's In this picture give you a size reference but the Top one Is the Side Arm 13 3/8" Total with an 8" Blade, The Dangerous Curves I got coming has a 15 Total, and a 10" Blade so I know It's gonna be a Great Cutter/Chopper cuz this Side Arm at 8" of Blade Is a Cutting/Chopping machine, The Hog Hunter I have on Order Is 17" + Total with a 12" + Blade, And a little thicker In Steel It's gonna Dwarf this Side Arm In the picture, You cant go wrong with a DFArmer Made Knife,

I got the feeling this New DFarmer Style Knife Is gonna be a Great BackWood's Cutting/Chopping Style Bush Country Blade,

David sent me this picture yesterday of my almost finished Dangerous Curves, He still has some work to do on the Argentinian Osage Scale's and put the Edge on the 10" Snakeskin Etched Blade and Finish the Sheath and I'll be getting my New DC Real Soon "I like them Curves", The Talibong on the Botton In the picture Is one he has almost Finished also, That Beauty has close to a 12" Blade, I really like the Blade design & Handle of the Talibong, He's doing a Great Job on these Knive's,

After seeing this Talibong, I cant wait to see the Hog Hunter I have on Order It has the same Blade length as this Talibong, The Hog Hunter's Blade has a Style all It's own, Pictured above the Side Arm, The Hog Hunter In this picture Is David's personal Hog Hunting Blade,

Thank's for sharing the Video Link, When I seen the War Golok on there Web-Site I knew It was one Heck of a Chopper, I think If one of there War Golok's would of been In Horn Dog's Chopping Test "The Chop Off Result's Would of been Very different !

Maybe he'll add one to his Huge Chopping Blade Collection for his Next Golok Chopping Comp. ! This was a Great review Horn Dog, Very Interesting & Informative

^^ Yup, those Barkie Goloks are serious business. They don't look like much, kind of an oversized butter knife, but brother, they're chopping DEMONS!

I'm with you, my Bark River Golok is one of my most used tools. Chops like a maniac. I don't do yard work without it.

Horn Dog, Thanks for the excellent reviews! I have the Martindale and have used it for several seasons of eradication season. It is much more convient to carry than the larger machetes some of the guys have carried and yet big enough for just about anything I ever needed to conquor. I did find that after a full day of hacking through some heavy brush it was well in need of that nice file that came with it. And the price was a little easier on the wallet. Would buy another one tomorrow if I lost it!

Awesome review and pics, I may just pick up a golok pattern soon after my bday next week. That farmer is sweet.

Great review, thanks so much. Been thinking of getting the bark river and this clinches it.

Great review! But now you need to get one of those Condor Village Parangs and review it as well!
:)

Excellent, thorough test ,hard to pick a better line-up of blades.

thanks for all the work
