Too tired to search through "The Informative Thread" but after watching Total Recall tonight, it looks like Quaid (Arnold) is packing a Goncz semi-auto pistol and the rebel dwarf woman at the Last Resort does pull an interesting survival knife from under the table and then uses it to run through one of the BGs. Ever more curious, I slowed and read through the DVD credits. Lo and behold, there is an L. John K. Goncz credited with providing "Survival Knives and GS8 Semi-Automatic Pistols" after the Project Coordinators credits.
Seems like some of the Gonczters claims may hold water after all. I still wont touch a flashlight or any product where the maker/owner berates his customers and exhibits the abhorrent yet fascinatingly aberrant behaviors that John does here....

You confirm what I had mentioned (about the scenes in the film and credits near the very end) in another section of the Fourum. And you are correct that several of the "firearm" props that were used appear to be similar to photos of the firearms that g.b. has laid claim to. Good to see that someone else has confirmed it. Credit must go where it is earned. However, that includes the flakey stuff too though.

Thanks, Stu. I remembered somewhere back in this thread that there was some doubt and discussion about John's claim to Hollywood prop fame and couldn't recall if there had been confirmation.

Even if he builds a better mousetrap he hasn't built any customer confidence with his belligerent demeaning and badgering. I look to folks like Sal Glesser who take criticism as an opportunity to improve an already excellent product and can still field unjust complaints like a true gentlemen. Maybe g.b. should really go to SHOT and take notes from Sal on how to be a reasonable human being and an enthusiastic yet attentive salesman.
But for now, for me

I concur about the g.b.'s behavioral issues but it does appear that he is acting in a more appropriate manner now and he did make good on a financial challenge to a young gentlemans education. Not to say that he has completely validated himself yet but there has been some positive direction.
It is curious that g.b. seemed anxious to contact me in a "private" manner, however he has yet to answer the e-mail that I sent to him several days ago. I assume that it was not that all that important after all.
I also believe that it would be in g.b.'s best interest, as well as those who would like to directly compare other flashlights to the ones made by g.b., to all meet at SHOT Show. However, other than g.b.'s apparent interest, there did not seem to be any other interest in comparing lights side by side.

Remember the "law suit" that GB has trumpeted about so much?. That is how he got the film credit. He sued Carol Co Pictures and they tried to explain to him that the company that supplied the guns and knife get the credit, not him personally. He sued, made an ass of himself and rather than delay the opening date of the film, they gave him a screen credit just to make him go away. A rather pathetic marketing ploy on the part of GB, since he sold the gun company to two individuals who later sued him for not providing everything he was supposed to in the sale.
As for GB showing at the SHOT Show don't hold your breath. There are still individuals in the industry that would like a piece of him, or have encountered his BS before. He would do himself a service by showing, but he wont.
As for the good people at SureFire, I spoke to them at the Safari Club Show in Reno two weeks ago. They would love to see this light of his just to silence any statements GB has made about his light being superior. So there you go GB!, the guys from SureFire are waiting, course we are waiting for the pics of the Ti Knife, the orders to be filled, emails to be returned, an on and on and on and on............

Well, this is certianly becomming the informative thread, unfortunately, it's all of us forumites that are having to do the reasearch to dig up the information...
I don't think Goncz can even post a picture of the knife because he probably sold all the rights (including likenesses) to some (defendant), and is hoping that we will just forget this whole thing...
