Good knife for a Biker?

Oh, Locktite the small screws on the spacer and latch if you get a kimura. The pivots have red locktite but the smaller screws have nothing on them. So get some and let it set for a day and youre golden. Ride safe

These oughta do it

When I ride I carry whatever I normally carry in my front pocket, I just add a Leatherman Ti in a belt scabbard to my belt to supplement the toolkit if needed. I haven't had any comfort problems with pretty large folders, even on sports bikes, but I'm 6' 2", may be a factor. Current EDC is ZT0551, previous is Benchmade Rift 950. If I wanted something big and intimidating, of what I have I'd choose the original Lone Wolf Harsey, a beast of a folder with a 5" blade, 10.75" open, still carries surprisingly well. Of what I don't... maybe a ZT0200. Hard to imagine anyone who calls himself a "biker" NOT liking the 0200. Me, I'm just a motorcyclist.

I keep thinking Edwood7 will drop in and jokingly recommend the Sayoc Winkler Hawk with front spike.

It would help if we knew where your brother lives and where he would do the majority of his riding. No sense suggesting something illegal unless he doesn't care.

Buck 110. What I started with 30+ years ago. May replace it soon with a Benchmade 710 though...

I don't know what to look for in a "biker's" knife, but if self defense is a concern the Cold Steel Espadas might be good to look at. Spyderco Military is another good one.

When I first took one of these out of the box it made me think it might be a knife that someone who rides would like to have.

They are very tough, well made knives and the blade shape is unique with a sort of mean, aggressive look. Definitely not a "me too" knife at all. If it ever has to be used for emergency it cuts insanely well and makes a huge 2-3" gash when poked into something depending on what it is and your mechanics.

The name seems to fit also

It would help to know if your brother is a weekend warrior or a 1%er.

Case stockman. Legal about 99% of everywhere, and it has great utility. I would say look at a CV one.

The ESPADA is a good choice, a really good choice. But it is BIG bucks.
Try a Cold Steel SPARTAN. (only comes in one model) and is 1/3 of the price of an ESPADA.
Just as tough, (almost), and you won't have to worry about ruining it.
(Cold Steel Spartan, Mdl#: 21S, about $55 on eBay) Looking for a fixed blade? BUD-K has hundreds
of really cheap fixed blades. Their military series fixed blades a good choice.

I he's a 1%er, it's a nice thought but he's probably got all the blades, etc......that he needs.

That would be my thought as well. If not, his brothers will square him away.

No one has said Izula II?

Made in America, nice large handle, lifetime warranty. I don't think there is anything not to like.

It would need a different sheath for the duty you are outlining though, in my opinion.
