You have held your ground and done real well to fight for shiva ki
Without you here we'd have no fun, this thread will surely die
It's time for me to end this rhyme, I guess I must type faster
When you read this Gord it's clear to see I am a Ryhmin Master
So Master Wolf I shall now be known, an equal to Master Shiva
Maybe now I'll get you point as soon as it's delivered!!

hidden talents the Wolfmann has....:D

however, in the case of some people, I would suggest upgrading the 2x4 to, maybe, 2x6.

I just counted (7) threads with Shiva and his supporters/detractors/commenters running in various forums. That's right, seven.

The spirit is palpable !!! ;) I see for myself it's real!

Keith, Roger, Parker, Ira... why don´t you guys hit the IGNORE button? It seems to me you like to argue with those guys.. like some kind of sport - who will drive him crazy enough to get banned.. right?

David, as I'd mentioned on the other thread where you posed this same question, the reason is because people are objecting to obnoxious and rude behavior, that's why.

It's a public forum and all that, but still, it's obnoxious and rude. Bad manners. Sure people "could" ignore. But some folks have standards, and speak up when they feel someone is being obnoxious, rude, and purposefully missing the point etc, and frankly, hogging attention / bandwidth / oxygen.

Thus, the reaction. It is deserved. Some folks keep turning the other cheek, some don't and say enough is enough, calling cr*p when they see it. Sometimes, with some people, you've just got to do that, or the obnoxiousness just won't go away, as seems to be the case here.

Frank,

If you check the threads in question - the threads would have died long time ago. They did not IMO mostly because the "rude" posters were provoked by those "good" guys...

David, Shivas acolytes were hardly "provoked" into starting several threads (and counting) trying to portray the Master as a poor misunderstood victim of forum bullying and injustice. Sometimes when I see bu[[sh!t I let it pass. Other times, when I see people trying to sell it as chocolate pudding, I feel compelled to call it what it is.

But you indirectly raise a very valid point - there is very little left to be said on the subject. Shiva's conduct - then and now - speaks for itself.

I read the "shiva" posts (in the only "shiva" thread). Maybe it is my inability to understand English well enough - but was it really that bad? His ego was big but .. there are many others with the same size of their egos.... And without the (inquiring, arguing, lecturing) audience he would go away...

Regrettably, there are SEVERAL Shiva threads - current and past -all of which inform the reaction to him and his ardent supporters. Until you have read them all, you won't understand. And I don't see where you have any problem understanding English.

I referred to the thread where Shiva offended so many people that he had to be banned... Apparently every thread describing his business practice or knives (both obviously good) will turn into thread about his behaviour in that particular thread. And that is the reason for the new threads popping out. If those with untarnished morals stayed on topic this would not happen IMO.

Well, we see things differently.

Roger

P.S. - You seem to be aving a bit of difficulty following your own advice and ignoring the issue. Or is it only one side of the debate that you wish to silence?

The original topic in this thread was flawed.
People voiced their reasons, and explained it by addressing the old threads where he got banned.
Apparently this was not sufficient to have supporters drop the argument he was a victim of vindictive people here.
It isn't so.

After reading all of this, it has come to my attention that Grand Master Ki is indeed getting a lot of advertising out of this.

No need to silence anybody - just stay on topic...

Once again, in my opinion it is completely appropriate when discussing maker's knives to also discuss their business practices and the way they treat people. If I am thinking of purchasing a knife from someone I want to know what kind of person I will be dealing with, not just how good a knife they make.

absolutely. That is a huge part of the reason that I have custom knives.
