Got scammed of my DDR knife big time ! No longer stolen !

You can also report internet based fraud to IC3.Gov. That reports the crime to a Federal clearinghouse that will give you documentation via an intake number. The report will be looked at by them and then forwarded to the appropriate jurisdiction for investigation. The more people report the same type of fraud, from the same suspect, the more likely you would get Federal intervention. Might be worth a try.

Good Idea thanks.

Just a heads up for everyone; This thread is now making the rounds on platforms outside of BladeForums. I saw it on Reddit. Beware of any new accounts, etc. that make their way here to stir up the hornet's nest.

Thanks for telling us about your lack of character.

Again this Idea was again "only based on so many red flags solely in this particular case and those particular circumstances" and it was only thought for split second that didn't happen ! And it would have never happen ok?! So the chance it happening to anyone is exactly 0.
I guess the main reason I shared this thought with you was to let you know I new something was wrong and I was being idiot and continued with the trade instead of listening to my guts not to do it, hope this helps.

Give the guy a break. At least he told the truth. Thoughts and actions are separate. Everyone is capable of any act. It's the conscience that separate bad from good. It's easy to ride the high horse. Admitting a failure not so much.

Yep, the thought police are in a self-righteous frenzy

Exactly, OP just thought about it, he didn't actually did it. Don't we all have thoughts that we never follow through because we know that it is wrong? It would be a lack of character if OP actually follow through with it.

This is the guy I spoke to on the skype: (the one on right)

FWIW, I swear this kid is a former (now banned) member here from some years back. The first pic really looks like the guy, especially that lame emo haircut. I recall a picture showing up on here where he was letting some girls dress him up in clothes and make-up like a cross-dresser. Cannot remember the dork's username for the life of me right now, but I'm sure one of our veteran members will, especially if they hang out in Whine & Cheese.

I could be wrong too. Hope it helps.

Has OP talked to the guy who received his knife (Robert Reynolds)? Still not getting why this is complicated. The guy who owns the box is the guy who signed for the knife is the guy I'd be talking to...
Agreed,ditto,exactly?

You're an idiot. Enough of this non sense.
I agree total idiot.Suggesting to send an empty box, you're a douchebag. He brought this on himself self. He likes the attention he's getting.

You knew you were an (idiot) but continued anyway, hahahahaha. Dude you have blown any chance you had of having a respectable rep here. Dumbass.

I don't give a damn about someone "thinking" about doing something he shouldn't do, as long as he didn't do it. All of you who've never done that are welcome to pile on. The rest of you (that would be everyone) should probably drop the self-righteous BS.

OP - Your knife was delivered to a box owned by Robert Reynolds. It was signed for by Robert Reynolds. Jonakee Reynolds asked you to send the knife to that box. I assume that you have correspondence of some kind that lays out the terms of your deal. I would do these things, in this order: Call the La Madera post office and tell them what's going on. (Btw - La Madera has a population of fewer than 200 people. The chances are good that the postal workers know Reynolds and would remember this transaction). Ask them the procedure for collecting a parcel mailed to one of their boxes. Ask them if they have surveillance cameras. Assuming you are satisfied that there is no question about who picked up the knife, call Robert Reynolds. If he answers, ask him where your knife is and what his plans are for returning it to you. If you get no answer, leave a message that says exactly what happened and that your next calls will be to the Rio Arriba Sheriff's Office and the US Postal Inspector. If you don't hear back within a few hours, call the Rio Arriba Sheriff's Office.

Yes he admitted he was an idiot and that I can respect. Let's not blame the victim.;)

Man this is entertaining.
No sympathy for the op at all. Sure as hell got what he deserved for letting his greed blind him and being an idiot.
But a nice turn of events.

Gotta grab some more popcorn.

The fact that he would consider sending an empty box rather than just not going through with a shaddy deal is troubling but whatever. I don't like trades in general so the whole thing doesn't make much sense to me anyway....

The fact that he is putting in more time here than doing any number of the actual things you suggest is shocking! If this happened to me (and it wouldn't) I would be overturning every rock until something was done. I lose sympathy real quick for people who don't want to help themselves. SMH.....

I don't disagree. I sense that the OP is feeling a bit overwhelmed and is getting all sorts of advice. Naturally, I think mine is the best! The focus needs to be on the guy who has (had?) his knife. This just doesn't seem like it should be too hard to resolve.
