Are these less popular in general, or is the 13 really giving me luck? I now have these three whip versions the way:
Antique Yellow Spring Field Bone
Stag
Cocobolo
I wasn't initially drawn to the 13 pattern, but I'm a sucker for a wharncliffe.
I wasn't initially interested, but they're growing on me. I'm more a fan of the single blade whip version and will skip the clerk version. Also I've spent way too much on the three I have on the way.Seems to be not as desired/lower secondary value so less people scooping them for resale or trade bait. Just goes to show people have bad taste.
Another good indicator of lack if interest is how this thread is only two pages, and it honestly took a while to start one. The two blades will be more popular I assume.
I’m really anxious for the richlite version to arrive. It looks great in all of the photos I’ve seen.I got the maple richlite first (very well done) then a cocobolo (also nice) I have a hummingbird on the way too. I originally planned to keep just one, but I dig the pattern enough to have multiples. It’s a great size for easy carrying.

Those things sat around for minutes which is like GEC sales eternity. I just added a hummingbird acrylic to my group of whips. Only need a richlite for the full set now.Weirdest thing just happened. I noticed that I got an email about these from a retailer about 2 minutes earlier. Normally, that's waaay too late for me to get a GEC on the drop, but now I have a Antique Yellow Spring Field Bone on the way.
This is my 3rd GEC (aside from forum knives). I feel like I should step outside for a bit and walk in the woods to clear my head.

Pretty crazy. The bone and stag versions are going to approach $200.There is some available now, 2 blade, almost 3 hours after the drop. 11, to be exact.
I'm going to pretend that I didn't read this. I was happy to score one that lasted 10 minutes on the retailer's site. There is some available now, 2 blade, almost 3 hours after the drop. 11, to be exact.
Nice Speaker Jack!! I was seeking one for quite a while. Never found one for a good price, but ended up getting a Fightin' Rooster version of it. I'm trying to hold off on these whips and clerks because they are tempting. But, if they do another Speaker Jack run I may have to pull the trigger. That and a 3.5" serpentine stockman are ones I've been "holding out" for. My last GEC purchase was actually the Rider in ebonyLucky enough to have two 13's, a Speaker Jack and an Office Knife. I'd love a single blade in a narrow Spear or Turkish Clip. OH

Thank you! I no longer remember if I got it from a dealer or off one of the knife site sales pages, but I am happy I grabbed it. Memory is they were easier to buy then than now. OHNice Speaker Jack!!
