Great Eastern Cutlery 2024 lucky pattern 13

I'm a huge fan of the single spring/half Congress and have accumulated a bunch. Boker makes a good user but the only one I have so far that comes close to the quality of these 13s came from Schrade Cut Co.

This is so nice. The full length main blade is pretty cool too! Cocobolo is gorgeous. Action is perfect.

I doubt you could even find a half Congress this nice without contracting a maker.

It's a blood orange. They've been on sale along with the cara cara oranges for a couple weeks and both varieties are really tasty!

My orange trees are all Valencia that are ready in the summer, but I have friends with blood orange and cara cara orange trees. Full size citrus trees produce far more fruit than one family can eat, so we all share what we have in season. I got a grocery bag full of cara cara oranges and meyer lemons from a friend on Friday. Cara cara is my favorite.

Grocer store oranges are weak imitations of the full flavor and sweetness that you get from fruit that is allowed to ripen longer on the trees. Commercial groves harvest too early, but they have to in order to have fruit that ships and stores well.

I wish!

We can get some good locally grown fruit, but citrus isnt one of them. Definitely at the mercy of the commercial growers.

Is anyone else having issues with the single blade 13's hitting it's edge when closing them? Mine had a nice roll in the edge where it's making contract with the spring around that center pin, even when I try to close it gently it still makes contact with the backspring.

I’ve had no problems with the two I purchased from this run. The one I got from the previous run had a proud tip but it was a S knife. Filing down the kick took care of it.
