My guess would be buffing compound. Why are all the Osage 'dirty' at the bolster and handle meeting ?

Definitely from either buffing or shaping/sanding/grindingWhy are all the Osage 'dirty' at the bolster and handle meeting point ?
Couldn't say for sure but guess like the others that it's compound, funny its mainly on the mark side in that particular area but not on the pile side. Glad it doesn't bother me, actually I like itWhy are all the Osage 'dirty' at the bolster and handle meeting point ?
I lied, I did try really hard to get that one, it’s the best of the run in my mind. Looks great, congrats!I just got the one I wanted out of this run. The others look nice, but glow-in-the-dark best fits the silliness of the knife, in my opinion.

My Osage just came in, I bought this one partially because I don't have any in Osage handle material. I really like it!

I was thinking the same thing. My Cocobolo #25 came yesterday and the bolster was pretty bad. Nothing I couldn’t fix but still it was kind of surprising to see coming from GEC.Why are all the Osage 'dirty' at the bolster and handle meeting point ?
