Great eastern cutlery 25 beerlow

It has been a good week...so far...newest arrivals

I was able to get the one I was after - red sawcut. Quite frankly, the only reason I scooped it up is because of my strong liking for red sawcut bone. It really is one of my favorites, even when the dye job comes out less than perfect. I don't think I will find much use for this knife but it's a whimsical thing and a throwback to some of the vintage examples that have been shown here.

Per usual, it's well made, tight, and will require a good flushing. The bone dye is terribly done (it looks worse in person than it does in pictures) but as they say, "expect the worst and you won't be disappointed". GEC is usually inconsistent with their dyed bone so it didn't come as any surprise.

Overall, it's a fun little knife that I can be amused by.

Here it is with its older brother.

And here it joins my rather meager lineup of red sawcut.

Man, nice pics! I'm really wanting to pick up a barglow somewhere (not at flipper prices), but that opportunity may have passed. I'm loving my red sawcut more than I thought I would. I really like the 25 pattern in general. This was my first 25.

If you like the beerlow then wait until you grab a “regular” 25. They are addicting!

I haven’t got mine in hand yet but from my observation I think it will be a perfect secondary. All my traditionals are secondary Carries anyway. I don’t think there is a do all traditional made. This particular Barlow should make a perfect bottle and envelope opener and I’m sure will do just fine at other small tasks that don’t require a longer cutting edge. Also being a easy open I absolutely love and for me this pattern will fall nicely into my every day carry rotation.
