Great eastern cutlery 25 beerlow

Hmmm. With this, I could use the same blade to slice my apple, and between bites, open a favorite beverage…. As I sit beneath my pecan trees on a beautiful afternoon or evening. While grilling, and watching the dogs chase squirrels. Geez, what’s not to like?
;)

I used to have a Hilti branded marketing knife from Solingen that had the caplifter placed just like this #25.

Loved that knife, and was the most used among my collection…until I lost it.

I think it is unique but not that unusual.

pay attention the next time you peel an apple or a potato with your hand and a knife, you will quickly notice that it is mainly the rear part of the knife blade that comes into contact with the skin... and guess whats the rear part of this Beerlow?

I don’t peel my apples but only unplug the cores from the ends by gauging them out with the point of my knives…then eat the whole apple, seeds and all. 😅

Also, with a knife this small, I almost always use tip of the blade for nicking and carving things…

With larger knives, I definitely use the edge closer to the tang more.

First time i see this blue coloring on the glow acrylic.
Is that the chemical that makes it glow? How does that work?

I would guess the blue part is just for a neon sign effect and it doesn't glow. Looks like a layer of paint, but might be a separate liner as well.

A Richartz perhaps (their advertising knives aren't always marked)?

Still there is a little chance that GEC will also make a regular blade version. Maybe as an SFO for someone? knifeswapper knifeswapper Mike?

Not me, but never know about Bill. Personally I think it's the bees knees. A) If you don't already have a #25 spear, you shouldn't get a vote anyway ;) , and B) This thing just looks cool and will be hotter than a $3 bill in a couple years.

Nobody uses all their blades for what they were designed for anyway, so having one more that you just carry for fun - can't be all that bad.

Bartenders will like this one. The blade can be used on lemons and limes. Or a maraschino cherry lol.
I may pick up one of these but that is it. I enjoy the 25 pattern with an EO. They are very hard to come by at decent price. I was this close to modifying a red Buffalo horn clip 25 last week to have an EO. As far as the caplifter: I mostly use these tools for the flathead screwdriver which is obviously gone from this model. My cypop is for bottle tops.
Hope GEC puts out their annual farm and field run soon. Need a worker that’s easy on the wallet.

I can't really imagine bartenders will like this effort frankly. It'll cost a lot, the carbon steel will pit and rust quickly in a wet & citrus environment and bone scales will crack easily from being dropped or slammed down in a hurry....

Nevertheless, this is a 'special' and WILL appeal to the Collector and to those who are amused by aspects of GEC's humour, and good luck to them

The worst thing is that, like with any other GEC release, we will see another 25 minimum after a year, maybe later, maybe much later, a Barlow at least. That's the main down for me.

Maybe I'll be getting one at the end, because I wanted it for so long and that red jigged bone is one of the best bone covers I can imagine. Oh...

I personally don't have enough pants pockets to carry something just for fun.

Why is that? Some justification would be appreciated, because it doesn't really makes sense.
The word is the old spear blade on 25s is not very good. This one has been redesigned (obviously) and even with the shorter cutting area is an improvement. I have not had either (yet) so I am relaying others statements.

No, I cannot provide a link to source my information.

My 25 spears are awesome sauce, *and* they have more blade to work with... Already contemplating "Is it worth it to blade swap a spear into this frame just for the covers?"

As always everyone has their own preferences. Glad you like yours.👍
