Great eastern cutlery 25 beerlow

I like my 25. It's a nice pocket friendly little knife, but still has a useful blade. I'm not at all interested in this new one though.

Thy are making that THING but won't do another run of a great little knife like the 09 Esquire?

I'm not sure I understand GEC; it's like they figure what ever they make they'll sell out to the collectors so they don't need to make the nice usable knives.
Just to tamp down the hyperbole lets recap the 22 production (excluding SFO and club knives):

77 Barlow single blade 4 covers (pretty usable knife)
14 Barlow single blade 1 cover (pretty usable knife)
36 ToeNail Clipper - singe blade 5 covers - could be argued as a collectors knife, but I’ve seen many on this forum that are obviously well used, so I’d never argue it’s not useable.
88 Bayou Trapper -2 blades - 5 covers (pretty usable knife)
65 Hogan - different variations - 4 covers (pretty usable knife)
71 FF Sudbuster - 1 cover - if a caplifter makes it a collector knife so be it - regardless it’s a pretty usable knife.
35 cattle knife and camp knife - totally different configurations on the same pattern - both very usable knives.
59 Whittler - 3 blades - 4 covers (pretty useable knife)
81 Coon skinner - 2 blades 4 covers - (pretty useable knife)
39 Bunny - 2 blades - 3 covers (pretty usable knife)

There are a number in the 2022 production that I wasn’t interested in, but I wouldn’t label them unusable - I just didn’t care for them.

Now this 25 in question - yeah, it may lean hard toward the collector or guys and gals that like whimsical knives. I’ll count myself in that camp. GEC does a GREAT job of making various patterns throughout a year that appeal to a broad base of knife users and collectors alike. Don’t want to come across as a “fanboy”, but I think the assessment is fair.

Critique accepted. I was being unfair and will edit my post.

I still wish they would do another run of 09 Esquires; preferably with some interesting bone scales

I was lucky enough to get one in hand today. It is a neat little knife, albeit niche. Don’t have any bottles with caps, so lifter is untested. First impressions of F&F. I think this might drive the purists a bit nuts, because you’re going to lament the cap-lifter/blade on such a well executed 25. The saw cut covers, bolster, centering and dye job are excellent. I’d like a bit deeper red dye, but that’s a personal preference. The dye fade at the bolster gets pretty light - not quite pink, but on the verge. Seems like the pictures from from the GEC factory reflected pretty deep reds with minimal color fade at the bolster - so I’m sure I’ll be eyeing future pictures of those deep red examples with a bit of green envy ;). Tube artwork is minimalist and mine came with a pin. Pictures for effect:

Thanks for sharing your impressions and photos of the knife. I’m definitely going to try for one, not even sure I care which covers as they all seem pretty interesting- but that Red Bone looks great!
