Great Eastern Cutlery Availability, Dealers, "Drops", Etc.: A Place for People to Vent

So you bought more than you needed, leaving someone empty handed at the dealer?

You flipped one for a desirable trade, making a profit.

Your squirreling one away while others frantically search and pay flippers?

And now you have sour grape complaints about the system?:confused:

I was a little offended because I was the exception to the 98%, which meant I was in the 2 percentile but was suggesting he and most everyone else was in a whole other category since they only bought one. Come to find out, he was in the 98% he mentioned I was excluded from, now I feel better. :D

- yes you can block a moderator.

- sorry to offend you. After reading your reply on the 93 thread, and your emotional attachment to these knives- I’m thinking we are on a different level when it comes to these objects.
Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe there are quite a bit of people who are buying exclusive knives for friends and family. I guess I’ve gifted knives, but never a new drop. I was dumb enough to gift beer scouts before they jumped up in price.

Quite honestly I have more to worry about than something you said, I wasn't truly offended. You suggest were on different levels based on "these objects", but seem upset someone has more than one?

Like I said before, I worked hard to get the number I got, and I got them for myself and family. No shame.

And if this is a "Rule", who decides which ones you can only have one of and which ones you can buy five of lime a #38 special or bull moose for instance? It seems arbitrarily thrown at one model and then another and not all of them. Are you frustrated with the reserve system as well since those didn't allow particular models to even hit the same market of people?

It’s hard to get too frustrated when you win sometimes- like I did with this drop. I’m hoping to be in the right place and time when the text goes out for the 77 reservations. But if not- I’ll be one of the people paying nearly double like I have for previous Northwoods models.

In the end- they are knives. A lot of fun and some frustration goes with this hobby and I’m ok with that.

Yeah you can block a mod (or at least a mod of his level), I was really confused with bbk's posts and then I realized that he was talking to a user that I had already blocked lol

:DAhh the ignore button ...
The last thing you can do
when you don’t have the witts,
Or leg to stand on in an arguement

yeah your in phase 2
Feeling like a 6th grader
Better than logging out to see what’s I’m saying about you:D

Now that you are calmed down,
I am calling you out Bbk on the hypocrisy of complaining about knife flippers, and people buying doubles, when you are doing exactly that,
you claim to worry about every one getting one in a post earlier,
But that’s as soon as you have your stash to put back & trade...

It’s almost like your oblivious to the fact that your extras came out of some other members cart:cool:

Just been reading and seeing vision of the Earthquakes over there, puts missing out on a knife into perspective!!!

Maybe it’s because you don’t think trading a $145 knife for a $300 knife is making a profit?
Now your editing?
I’ve hurt your feelings and I’m back on ignore?
dang...

- I did take you off ignore. I did it because I would like to defend myself from your constant trolling. My personal feelings is that the moderator badge by your name is a joke.

- I am trying to find the post where I am whining or complaining about people getting multiples. I don’t see it. I suggested that it’s a bad idea if dealers allow multiples. It promotes people buying more to flip or save... if I remember correctly, I think I said “no disdain for people that do...”
to be honest, if a dealer wanted to sell me 10 of the new 93 lambfoot, and I had the money, I would do it. How nice would it be to have these and use them as trade fodder for GEC models that you’ve always wanted? I know there are multiple SFOs that rarely get put up for sale but people would trade them for another highly sought after model.

- if you are referring to the 93 jig bone lambfoot as a $145 knife, you are correct that was the MSRP. But that price jumped up as soon as the dealers sold out of them. The early ancient TC Barlow was once a $140 knife, now it’s around $300. I know it may be hard for you, but I hope you see the logic in how the secondary market sets the price once they are sold out.

Trading for a knife double in value is a knife flip,
Unless you sell it for $145 when you get tired of it..

I do not care what people do with their knives
Flip them juggle them hoard them
Who cares,
But you can’t flip and hoard,
Then complain about flipping knife hoarders ...
